Rebecca

The house absolutely blew us away and really is even better in real life. We were a group of ladies 2060 and had a fantastic time. The house is fully equipped with absolutely anything and everything we needed and immaculately clean everywhere. The hot tub was fantastic first thing in the morning with a coffee overlooking the cows and also very clean. Were already planning when we can come back with our families

Bhavisha

The property was beautiful! We met the owners, who live on site, who were very friendly and warm. The house itself is homely. The animals all around made the trip. Would recommend and will definitely be coming back! Sykes cottages customer service isn't great though. If you have a question for the owner, the owner had replied but Sykes wouldn't relay the message to us until we called to chase.

Esther

A group of five couples for a regular weekend away. We really loved the hall and it was everything we were hoping for. Well equipped, comfortable and very relaxing for us all. We ate, slept and chilled well and were able to do a mixture of York and nearby nature reserves. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

A lovely place, and exactly what we had expected from the photos and description. A big plus point is that all the bedrooms are en suite, with an extra toilet downstairs.

Fab home, loads of space, exactly what we were looking for, bedrooms were all ... Fab home, loads of space, exactly what we were looking for, bedrooms were all very spacious and having an ensuite in each room was such a benefit, huge garden space 1010 would book again

Michelle

Perfect house for a group, from 19 to 83 years old! Rooms are spacious and the grounds are stunning. A little noise from the nearby cows, etc as mentioned in the description, but that added to the feeling of getting away from it all. We used Ubers everyday to get into York which came quickly and didn't cost too much. The train from York to Harrogate was easy too. The hot tub was clean, but we didn't bring any towels so we had to use the bath towels provided, which wasn't a problem. Overall we had a fabulous time and would definitely return!

Great place to stay with a big group plenty of bathrooms & ample bedrooms. Kitchen very well equipped with big dishes pans etc.Fluffy towels. Lounge spacious with added bonus of grand piano and lots of space for kids to play hide & seek. Great garden for games & bonus of hot tub overlooking green spaces was a delight. So quiet at night. Great to get into York at the park & ride3 miles up the road with a very frequent bus into town saved expensive car park fees. Great place to stay & celebrate in style. Thanks so much.

Dominic

We were a bunch of old school friends having a reunion. It seems from the visitor book there have been several such groups. The house was immaculately clean and we bumped into the team of cleaners on arrival. We each had our own room and the house is easily capable of hosting the same number of couples and children. As most of us are over 6ft there were a few banged heads even though there are clear mind your head signs.maybe some padding would help. The piano in the lounge was great as one of us tried to remember how to play chopsticks. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils but when one of us cooked dinner it would have been nice to have had a measuring jug. The hot tub was much used even in the cold and rain. York is about 15 minutes drive away and we chose to use Ubers tofrom and that worked out well provided we gave them the correct address. We all agreed this was the best place in which we have stayed as a group and we will return! Very highly recommended.

Lovely house and a great stay.

Jonathan

Truly excellent stay and service from the team here even found and returned lost property at their own time and expense. Couldn't have been happier with the break.

Accommodation was absolutely perfect for our needs

Gillian

Absolutely outstanding on every level. We particularly appreciated having an ensuite bathroom for each of the 6 bedrooms. The lounge was spacious with enough comfy seating for all 12 of us staying. The setting was beautiful and the grounds were so private. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with a very high level spec and plenty of seating around a large dining table. I have already recommended this lovely house to friends and family. Thank you

Absolutely perfect, house was well maintained, grounds lovely, spotless and unlike many rentals it was supplied with everyday necessities. Thank you for going that extra mile to accommodate us.

Wonderful property with excellent facilities, so cosy, comfortable and spacious, our age group was 8 80 and everyone had a wonderful time, the large garden and seating area was fantastic, would definitely book again.

Jennifer

Copmanthorpe Hall was such a fantastic choice. We had a multigenerational family gathering there and everyone was thrilled with the house. Our only regret was that we didnt stay longer! The kitchen is well equipped, the dining area was big enough to seat everyone easily, the outdoor space was lovely. The bedrooms were spacious and calming with lovely ensuites. There was an accessible downstairs bedroom. Everything was clean and the owners had thoughtfully provided lots of useful things to make the holiday run smoothly. Thank you!

Sajeer

Absolutely loved the property. It has unmatched character. Our party of 12 stayed for a week during the summer holidays. The house is large and was easily able to accommodate us. The garden is also very large with lovely fruit trees and a very friendly dog who sometimes visits. Copmanthorpe village is a short drive away and has all the basic amenities. The park and ride into York itself is also a short drive. One point of feedback the kettle has significant limescale build up and should be treated or replaced. Otherwise an excellent stay thank you!

This property is absolutely gorgeous. It looks exactly like the listed pictures, incredibly spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely. The outside space was beautiful and the hot tub was huge and was pre heated for our arrival. We enjoyed a gorgeous weekend away for a lovely relaxing Hen do and enjoyed an evening out in York which was only a 15 minute Uber away. Would definitely highly recommend and hope to return!

House was amazing thank you, well equiped kitchen. Location was great, just outside of York and a beautiful setting. Really comfy beds and plenty of space across the hoise. The owner introduced themselves upon our arrival which was lovely. Communication via Sykes cottages was very poor, I had no reply to any of my queeries ahead of our stay and could not get hold of anyone via phone or message, I would not book through Sykes cottages again.

Fantastic place to stay with family. Plenty of room for everyone in both the kitchen and the lounge. The hot tub was great and the garden was huge. Very close to Park and Ride for York City Centre, National Railway Museum and Jorvik. Lovely pub and shop in Copmanthorpe village, only 45 minutes walk away. Loved every minute of being there. Thank you

Lovely property. Very spacious and great for large parties. Grounds look lovely and will be sure to look back at coming in summer.

Great stay, in a warm and welcoming place. I fully recommend it for a family or a group of friends stay

Annette

Copmanthorpe Hall was a delight right from the first clearly marked signs on the road, entering the well tended drive and arriving and entering the Hall. Its was clean warm and welcoming, well laid out and comfortable. The bedrooms are large with comfy beds, all the ensuite bathrooms look almost new with lashing of hot water. The kitchen well equipped apart from no kitchen roll

There were eleven family members with ages ranging from 9yrs to 79yrs in our group taking a weeks holiday at Copmanthorpe Hall. We found the accommodation suited all our needs and the kitchen was very well equipped. The teacoffee and milk on arrival was much appreciated. The bathrooms were equipped with hand soap and a toilet roll. The large garden provided plenty of space for football etc and the outlook over the fields provided a tranquil setting whilst enjoying a glass of wine or two. Although the owners property is directly behind the Hall this was not an issue and I am a person who likes their privacy. There is a small portable bbq provided but we took our larger one and found this to be beneficial for the size of group. The location to York was ideal and the children and adults had a day full of fun at the York Maze. The CoOp in the village was great for those odd items. I had organised a food delivery for the evening of arrival.

Graeme

We asked if there was an iron and ironing board. The agency said definitely not but in fact they were in the house. Agency could improve their response on the phone, online and by e mail. However beautiful property and grounds.

Stunning Property, 6 enswuite bedrooms made it so easy for everyone and of corse made it fair for everyone. We were there for an 80th birthday to be with family,Ideal.Very good facilities all round,Lovely to have the cows in field next to the large garden Hoping to return.

Frances

A beautiful place for our gathering of girls, it felt away from the owners property though it was fairly close we could have honestly been anywhere, it felt like abroad as we were so lucky with the weather! Just tucked away from everything plenty of privacy, a hello from the owner we knew we could ask any questions very helpful, and then we were left to enjoy ourselves. So much space both indoors and outdoors. Lovely and clean. Comfy beds. Used the kitchen and table seats 12 plenty of times to eat celebrate and loved the seated patio and hot tub.

Stayed for the weekend in a large group for a 60th birthday celebration. We have holidayed a lot together and have never found accommodation with 6 double bedrooms all ensuite. The Hall is super very warm and spacious with outstanding comfort. Hot tub was a lot of fun and we loved the animals. I agree with other reviews however, that the proximity to the owners house is not advertised. I would also agree with previous reviews some of the party had had a long journey and there was nothing to greet us on arrival, not even a pint of milk or teacoffee for 11 people. Basic cleaning equipment also missing, such as loo roll, washing up liquid, bin bags and kitchen roll, which surprised us. However, a great time was had and the setting and proximity to York was stunning.

Michael

Excellent property owned and managed very well.

Nicola

We had a wonderful stay at Copmanthorpe Hall. The venue really has the wow factor with cosy interiors but modern bedrooms and ensuites in every room. The kitchen was well appointed which was perfect for the chef we booked, and we loved the large hot tub. The only thing they would have improved our stay was a more flexible check in check out time but the agency said they couldnt speak directly to the owners to request an extension. In essence our stay was 42 hours so an hour extension wither side would have been appreciated.

An amazing property to rent especially at Xmas! Had a magical week there during Xmas 2023, spacious rooms and lovely spot just south of York.. We are looking to going back in October thank you!

William

We enjoyed our stay very much. The home is very large we stayed with a group of 8 and had more than enough space and privacy. No surprises about beds or rooms nobody was sleeping in the sitting room on a flimsy foldout mattress like some other properties. It is in excellent repair and very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The location is great, only 10 minutes to central York. It is located on a farm, but that was charming and in no way problematic no noise or smell. Only thing that caused any concern was being asked by Sykes to provide payment information over the telephone rather than through the VRBO website. Perhaps that's common in the UK but I'm not used to that in the US and I worried it was a scam. It was indeed totally legitimate and all worked out fine. I would love to stay here again.

Property absolutely fine external photos do make the property look slightly more grand than it actually is, but interiorfacilities were as described and very comfortable. No issues whatsoever during what was a very enjoyable stay for our group of ten adults.

The best cottage I have ever stay

Such a beautiful place to share with family and friends. Also near enough to visit York and the races.

Such a fantastic weekend, the property is beautiful and clean. The owners were very attentive in the few times we needed assistance and very welcoming of us. I hope to be back again one day soon.

Collette

Eight of us stayed at Copmanthorpe Hall for my 50th birthday celebrations in May 2023. Cannot fault this amazing place. Exceeded our expectations. The owners were lovely friendly people and so were their dogs!!

Pamela Ann

Oh my what a gorgeous house, we loved it! First thing the 8 of us have shared a house, it was a great success.Because the house is sooo big we didnt feel on top on each other, kitchen and ding area smashing, lounge what can I can? Superb, so big. Bedrooms and ensuite all fantastic. Garden gorgeous, we took a croquet set to play. Great fun was had by all, if youre looking for a 6 bed ensuite your really wont find better

Fabulous place to stay, relax snd enjoy.

This was by far the best property our group of 12 friends has stayed in. Cleanliness and standard of fittings were fantastic. Can highly recommend.
