Stag Lodge Holiday Retreat, Whitby

Beautiful location well maintained. Lodge comfortable and private. Floor in kitchen quite slippy and some plastic glasses for hot tub area would be great. Lady the horse was a perfect neighbour. Gardening services were doing a wonderful job but could have asked us to move our car? We will definitely book here again we loved it. Thank you.

The accommodation was lovely. There is a nice space to sit outside and the hottub area is amazing and really secluded. The only problem was the laminate flooring was very slippy for our dog.

We had a lovely stay at Stag Lodge, it's very clean and had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. Loved seeing the horses I'm a huge horse lover and just standing at the fence having a chat with them was so peaceful for me. The hot tub was a real treat, clean, hot and well maintained. Beds were super comfy! The location was perfect for the park & ride across the road. It was our first trip away with our 5 month old puppy, he loved it. I would say the fence wouldn't be 100 secure if you had a small dog that could fit under fencing or is an escape artist, but it was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend Stag Lodge, and hopefully we'll be able to visit again.

Lovely themed accommodation, finished to a high standard in a great setting and within walking distance of Whitby 40 mins, but very near 2mins to Park and Ride for those less able. Great base for the surrounding area.

Stag lodges from start to finish was an amazing break away for us. We got the snow and there was a lot of it and that added to the magic in spades. Underneath the snow we had a lodge that was bristling with character, warmth and everything we needed to be comfortably snowed in. The living area was spacious and the seating really easy to relax, mug of hot chocolate in one hand, book in the other. Also the beds were really good too. The bairn had his own room and switched between bunks on different nights. His words were that if he felt like it was from a fairytale. Overall we were so happy with our stay and would love to revisit. You wouldnt of thought it but the first few days we were there I managed a jog down to the Abbey and back each morning but once the snow set in that didnt seem like such a good idea and we all opted for the hot tub instead! Wow what a stunning lodge. From the moment you walk in you feel relaxed. It has such a cosy autominal feel. Perfect at this time of year. The lodge offers everything you need for your stay, with an added bonus of a hot tub. We were blessed with the weather, cool but not raining which was great. We managed to visit places like Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and Whitby. Perfectly located for them all. We used The Stables pub too which was nice to have on the doorstep after a day out. Great with the dogs too. All in all the lodge and it's location is fabulous. Would definitely recommend and use again if needed. 5

Very comfortable for a 4 night stay for 2 people with a small dog.

This is a really nice place to stay, on the outskirts of Whitby in a quiet location. The property is comfortable and clean, and little touches like dressing gowns and hand soap are welcomed. We missed having a washing machine but otherwise everything we needed was provided.

Great place easy access to whitby it's self . . a great park and ride virtually over the road a 5 min walk cheap as chips .2.75 return for adult. busses run every 15 minutes until 8.45 pm . So if u fancy a drink and food and you don't want to drive it's ideal... the lodge its self is lovely so quiet. Very relaxing holiday with hot tub. Best comfy bed ive had on a holiday. Reasonably priced as well. Everything you require in lodge. Big shower. Dishwasher. Central heating.

From the moment we entered the Stag retreat we were amazed at this lovely lodge. The very spacious log cabin effect was everything we had hoped for and more. Entering the bedroom we saw two dressing gowns proudly hanging up, a lovely touch and well used especially when getting out of the hot tub, which was the icing on the cake and easy to operate. The lodge has 2 large TV s, one in the lounge and another in the main bedroom. Both receiving a good selection of programmes. A log effect electric fire which looks and warms well in the cooler evenings. There is also central heating, but we never had the need to use it. The kitchen area has all facilities you should require for cooking etc The bedrooms although not over large are adequate and comfortable, toilet and shower likewise. The location of the lodge is on a new development with just a few other properties around. A very spacious site clean, quiet and secure as the main gates to the site close every evening at 7pm, access is easy though with a code. Next to the site is the Stables restaurant and hotel, I dont recommend here for eating out, as although the meal was reasonable, the waiting time was ridiculous 1 hour 45 mins and it wasnt that busy. We ate out mainly in Whitby itself. The location is some 2 miles or so outside Whitby, so its a drive in and out with the inevitable parking problems. Although there is a park and ride bus service into Whitby that we didnt use, this unfortunately stopped too early for us, at around 7pm for the last bus. As we used the lodge mainly as a base to explore other places Robins Hood Bay, Staithes, Runswick and Saltburn all of which were easy reached from our base at Stag lodge we found the location excellent.

I would highly recommend Stag Lodge Holiday Retreat. . We had the best time with our Grandson and two dogs, the lodge was ideal, the hot tub was a super treat at the end of the day.. The peacocks and the horses, Lady & Elvis added to our experience and made it extra special for our 6yr old Grandson.. Thank you, we will be returning this beautiful location.

Stag Lodge is a cosy, well equipped property, in a quiet area in March. We enjoyed our stay there and would return. We appreciated little touches like bathrobes, good quality hand soap in the bathroom and tea, coffee and milk available on our arrival. The only improvements I might suggest would to provide a small selection of books for bad weather days, and a small bedside table in the main bedroom, though we had a lovely holiday without them.

The lodge is absolutely gorgeous with everything you need and more. Great location for Whitby and surrounding areas and very private. It was lovely to meet Elvis and Mable and the resident peacocks who all came over to say hello and put on a show! We really enjoyed our stay and it was great to relax in the hot tub after a busy day. Would definitely recommend and already looking forward to coming back.

Had the best time at Stag Lodge, everything you need is there, couldn't get the fire to work first night, messaged the owners, someone came within 15 minutes and sorted it. Had zero complaints about the place, well stocked with pots n pans. Was nice and warm all the time and the hot tub in its own little private garden was wonderful after all that walking. Could possibly do with a few hooks near the hot tub xx

Lovely to be back for a two night stay at Stag Lodge, after spending our wedding night here back in 2018. Me, my husband and our girls 4 and 6 had the best time. They particularly loved the hot tub and the owners horses, Elvis and Lady. Absolutely no complaints, will definitely be back.

We had the most amazing time in the lodge. It was spotless clean. Very cozy and warm. Didnt want to leave. The attention to detail the owners had done was outstanding,WiFi and Amazon prime was such a bonus too. We cooked a full Xmas roast dinner the kitchen was fully equipped and also had a dishwasher! The views and the wildlife was great, only very short walk to the stables pub, where the food was fabulous. I would truly recommend staying here, we will definitely be coming back.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay extremely clean lodge bedding crisp white and bed so cosy kitchen utensils all you could ask for has a large fridge . Hot tub so relaxing and private big drive for parking over all 10 out of 10 for me .

Just returned home from a 3 night stay at Stag Lodge Retreat, what a cosy, warm, inviting lodge it was, the hot tub area is fantastic with no one looking in on you, very private, the lodge itself was warm and comfortable with everything you need, if you're taking a dog then the garden area is enclosed so ideal, we had dinner in the pub The Stables just a minute walk from the lodge along the track, it was lovely, only a short drive into Whitby or a good walk if you feel up to it, Would definitely return,

Wr stayed in stag Lodge for our anniversary and it was beautiful. It was right next to the park and ride so ideal if you want to nip into whitby for a few drinks. The loage was so cosy and clean and we will definitely be booking up again. I can not fault anything about our stay. We had booked up to take our little yorkie but she was unwell so we had to leave her at home but she would have absolutely loved it there. Thank you for a lovely break away. We will be back sometime soon.

Beautiful lodge in a very quiet location. Not overloaded with other lodges . Restaraunt 2mins walk. Park and ride across the road perfect to go to Whitby .

Beautiful lodge, everything little details that had gone into the lodge was Beautifully done. We loved going out into the garden and meeting the horses in the next field. The enclosed hot tub garden was great, so our dog was extra secure while we was in the tub. We will definitely recommend and be back. Thank you for a lovely week

Fantastic stay with our 2 kids and dog. The Lodge itself is so inviting, cosy, clean and yet still very practical which is what we need for our young family. Loved the hot tub area which was a lot of fun and the horses were just beautiful. The setting is perfect, quiet but not isolated with an easy 10 minute bus ride to the centre on the park and ride, or a 15 minute car journey to Robin Hood Bay. The owners are really responsive which is fantastic for any questions you may have. We had such a lovely time and will definately be back our littlest is already asking to go back to the wood house!

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great stay. Its child friendly and our boys loved taking carrots to the horses. Its clean and comfortable. The hot tub is a great addition and well covered for privacy and poor weather. The site is very new and still having building work done which wasnt too disruptive but there were diggers rubbing about at times. I would definitely recommend it!

Lovely decorated lodge, very comfortable stay. Nice welcome bottle of prosecco in fridge chilling nicely. The hot tub area is fab and private. The stables restaurant very close by well worth a visit for the views alone. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for relaxation

Just returned home from a lovely little mini break in Whitby. Highly recommend Stag lodge. A very cute and cozy log cabin. It was an upgraded version of Calamity Jane's cabin. All the mod cons you need and a bottle of prosecco waiting for us on arrival. Its set in a rural location 15 minute's from Whitby centre. Fantastic park and ride into Whitby literally across the road so no messing around looking for parking in busy Whitby. Hot Tub was definitely a high light set in enclosed patio area with seating. Would definitely stay there again.

We had the best stay at Stag Lodge, from a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us to Caroline answering any questions promptly. The lodge was beautifully decorated, warm and cosy! We loved the luxury of a hot tub, with a secluded area making it private as well as the use of the door to stop our dog from going too far out of sight! Our only feedback was that some chicken wire be added to the fences so smaller dogs cant escape. Our dog didnt attempt this which was good, but to fully relax, it would be an easy solution which Caroline has already messaged to say she is going to do. We will definitely be rebooking here. The location was brilliant and the fact our lodge wasnt surrounded by others made it so peaceful just what we needed! Thank you for letting us stay!
