The lovely terrace overlooks the grounds and surrounding fields. There are plenty of walks from the doorstep, while a half-mile trail will take you into the heart of picturesque Crayke village and its popular pub. Nearby is the quaint market town of Easingwold (3 miles), which is full of history dating back to the 12th century. The extensive ruins and museum at Rievaulx Abbey (15.5 miles) are peaceful, with plenty of walks along the valley.
