Fir Lodge Reviews

Booking and arrival instructions were easy to follow. The lodge had a nice layout with a lovely added touch of providing tea coffee and biscuits. The hot tub was great. The bed was comfy. The shower was powerful. And the kitchen had plenty of utensils. Some small things that could be improved with the lodge are that there was no hairdryer and no hooks anywhere to dry towels. The one thing that let down our stay was that there were a lot of dog hairs throughout the lodge. The tea towel had hairs on it so unable to use to dry pots. The bedroom carpet and sofa also had a lot of dog hairs. I understand the lodge is dog friendly but feel things could have been cleaned better between visitors. The area itself is peaceful and a great location for Whitby and Sandsend. We also went to the pub at the site entrance for Sunday lunch which we would highly recommend. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Just returned from two nights at Fir Lodge. Absolutely amazing, would highly recommend. Massive lodge with everything you need, hot tub red hot and very clean. CrossButts pub 5 minutes walk from the lodges, gorgeous meals and brilliant breakfasts. We had thick snow fall whilst there, lost the lodge key walking back from Crossbutts
This has been one our best accommodations in the Whitby area. Close to everything but far enough away to be relaxing and peaceful. Not exactly a lodge, more a luxury static caravan. Still, excellent accommodation.
We arrived to find everything as described, the impression was nearly new, could do with a few niceties, plants, ornaments to finish dressing, and my wife missed having a hair dryer, lighting on decking area around hot tub could be helpful at night . Altogether a wonderful restful stay, we would certainly come back.
Beverley
The lodges are in a stunning location with an easy walk into Whitby or a short bus ride. Spotlessly clean on arrival but needing a few more extras if you want to cook. The hot tub was a welcome bonus and well used! Bed was comfortable but without mattress or pillow protectors. My only issue was the settee which was not at all comfortable to relax on in an evening. That being said, we had a brilliant holiday and look forward to our next visit to this lovely part of the country.
Rebecca
The Fir was excellent accommodation and perfect ly situated for the Park and Ride to Whitby. The kitchen was well equipped but there were limited teaspoons and a measuring jug would be useful. We did ring management as we were concerned that the water level in the hot tub was low after the first use but they reassured us it was fine to continue to use. Our main moan was concerning the site overall. There were no facilities for recycling, the instructions were to throw everything in together. At least a glass and a plastic recycling container would help on site. Overall, if we ever visit Whitby again we would book this lodge again
Absolutely beautiful Lodge. Great setting very peaceful, but only a few minutes away from facilities and a 10 min drive to whitby. The only things that would improve it and they are minor things hooks on bathroom doors for towels, cleaning products, and surface spray and a tv in the master bedroom would have been nice. Like I said, these are minor things and do not take away from how lovely it was. Will definitely be back, thank you
Everything that we wanted. Perfect. Our 11 year old grandson love it, wants to know when we are coming back.
Overall we had a brilliant stay in fir lodge everything was what is needed for holiday in Whitby
Jonathan
Fir cottage was beautiful. Superbly presented with linen towels, tea, coffee when dishwasher tablets.immaculately clean. Hot tub was wonderful and positioned well for privacy and sun. Location just outside Whitby we found ideal and allowed pets. Area is enclosed around lodge so dogs were happy and safe outside. Overall wonderful stay and will definitely return. Well done
Lovely lodge in peaceful environment. All mod cons and fabulous hot tub. Gorgeous views of countryside. Near to park and ride into Whitby which we used several times. Would definitely recommend.
This was my second stay in one of the lodges at this lovely site. The location is great, just a short drive from Sand's End, Whitby, Runswick Bay, and Robin Hood's Bay. If you prefer not to drive, there's also a bus service to these places. The site is really peaceful, and the lodges are always in excellent condition and very clean. They kitchen is well equipped if you wish to cook during your stay. There's a lovely local pub nearby that welcomes dogs and serves nice food, all within a short walk.

Lovely spacious lodge with plenty of storage space set on a quiet site. I took my grandchildren and loved the fact the lodge didn't have any ornaments or cupboards filled with gamesbooks etc that a toddler could destroy. We loved the horses and peacocks that were our neighbours for the weekend. Couple of niggles, I had to contact the owners as the main bed hadn't finished being made, my grandchildren found belongings left in a bedroom drawer which included tablets and some of the cutlery needed cleaning before we could use it. Housekeeping came straight round to sort the bed. These things would definitely not put us off returning in the near future.
Elaine
Absolutely beautiful lodge, so clean and perfectly appointed. The hot tub was brilliant, and made it even better! Callie our Cairn Terrier found a squeaky dog ball behind the sofa, which obviously doesnt get cleaned behind a lot, but thats our only negative Callie would see it as a positive to find a new ball to play with!
For lodge is brand new and had everything you needed. Could do with a few table lamps but apart from that idea location.
We had a really nice comfortable and relaxing Easter break at Fir Lodge, and the local surroundings was fantastic.
Lovely location, great access to all east coast , bus to Whitby every 15 mins on ... Lovely location, great access to all east coast , bus to Whitby every 15 mins on the door step then buses to all east coast areas and walksattractions, pubrestraunt 5 mins walk away , lodge was very nice and easy to live in , with nice sitting out area and hot tub , would highly recommend it
We really enjoyed our stay at Fir Lodge. It was lovely and clean and in a very good location. A pub that serves decent food all day was in waking distance. Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are only a sort drive away. We would recommend staying here! Thank you
