A lovely base for a fortnight exploring Yorkshire with the family. Set in a lovely village, it provides a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of daily town living. Centrally located for exploring lots of the seaside resorts, as well as the city of York, no more than a 1hr drive from most of the bigger resorts. Local pub, The Trout, was recently refurbished and is ideal for a pub lunch, or a more formal evening dining experience. The local town of Driffield has an excellent array of shops including inn quality butchers and green brokers.

The cottage is fine for a short stay..up to a week. We stayed for three weeks and found it a little wanting.No tin openerNo washing machine or drying facilities e.g. washing lineNo offer of bedding changeVery dirty bbq facilitiesVery small fridge2nd bedroom is over the owners house and overlooks the stable yard which could be noisy at times.The gates into the premises were good for security. The beds were comfortable but the thick duvets were too warm in summer heat. The location, close to Driffield was useful.

This was our 4th visit to Garden Cottage and won't be our last. The cottage is in a lovely quiet location, but not far at all from the nearest town of Driffield. Going in the first week of January, the cottage is lovely and warm, even when freezing outside! It is well appointed, with everything you need. The kitchen, although small has all necessary utensils - we tend to make all our own meals rather than going out to eat and the kitchen suits us perfectly. The hot-tub is fantastic, with privacy curtains surrounding it to protect you from wind and rain and the coloured lights providing a cosy atmosphere. Even in the middle of winter, it's so warm and soothing. We have loved every visit to Garden Cottage and as I said earlier, we will be back!
