Complete privacy and panoramic views make this accommodation special. The owners Alan and Helen have created something that'll make you want to delete your dating apps and move in permanently.

The setting is pure Yorkshire magic. Fields, woodland and moorland stretch out in all directions. You can walk straight onto National Trust moorland or explore Dalby Forest. Perfect for stargazing with zero light pollution. Want to see wildlife? The bird life here is amazing - owls hooting while you're in the hot tub is pretty much guaranteed. Plus you can feed the friendly donkeys and Sherman the sheep daily.

The accommodation is an open-plan studio with everything thoughtfully arranged. A king-size bed, modern kitchen area with electric hob and combi microwave oven, cosy sitting area with smart TV and a dining space. There's even a mezzanine study area if you need to pretend to work. The bathroom has a shower, basin and WC. Everything is spotlessly clean and modern.

Nearby attractions include the pretty village of Thornton Dale (12 miles), historic Whitby (30 minutes drive), seaside Scarborough (13 miles/25 minutes), impressive Rievaulx Abbey (35 minutes) and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (15 minutes). We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the place, the sheep & donkeys were so cute and we loved feeding them the apples from the many apple trees on the grounds, enjoyed the jacuzzi, & playing games during the night. This has been one of the best locations we have stayed in, with friendly rescue donkey and sheep to keep you entertained. In the most beautiful surroundings in a secluded location. This stunning little barn conversion and its location is a must for anyone seeking some much needed refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life. An abundance of wildlife, moorland, woodland and the opportunity to take yourself off walking wherever your heart desires. The property has all your modern essentials and has lots of character. The open plan layout makes the place feel a lot more spacious as well as allowing lots of natural light to flow through. The hosts, Helen and Alan and their family made us feel super welcome. They provided us with a few additional extras it was my birthday and the thoughtful act of kindess was grately appreciated. For anyone who hasn't had the privilege of staying before, I would suggest purchasing your groceries before arrival as the nearest convenience store is several miles away. The barn has an under counter fridge and small counter top freezer, which we found perfectly adequate. All in all, I would Highly Recommend this property. I wish everyone could have the privilege of experiencing this magical place.

This was the most relaxing holiday break we've ever experienced the barn was exceptional with everything you need and more, our hosts Helen and her hubby have thought of everything, from their welcoming smiles on arrival to the little things like a torch, walking stick, crocs to walk to the hot tub, games and more. The location was fantastic walking distance to the forest and a few meters from the moors with beatiful views 360 and most of all our new friends their 4 donkeys who came up to the fence for a stroke and a carrot and apple treat. Where can I start? This wonderful place was a DREAM to stay. It was clean, welcoming, romantic, peaceful and above all the stunning views you get with it. The owners are absolutely lovely people and welcome you. The barn itself was beautiful. You have everything provided and more. All you need to bring is your items and food & drinks when me and my partner arrived we was blown away. It was more than we expected. We had an incredible 3 days stay and would recommend it to everyone. So, if youre looking for a very peaceful break away in this incredible area then this place is perfect for you. All you can hear is birds, donkeys and all the animals. Its heaven. 1010 area and place to stay and lovely walks to go on. Highly recommend!!

A very pleasant and most enjoyable stay. Thompson Rigg Farm, was the perfect place for my partner and I to relax away from stresses of day to day lives. Thompson Rigg farm is situated in the most idyllic and peaceful surroundings. Allowing us to travel a short distances to local coastal areas or kickback and enjoy the peace and quiet, and taking advantage of the hot tub. Greeted by great hosts Alan and Helen, the lovely and friendly farm dog,I think Flash and lovely and friendly donkeys, that you can feed and brush anytime. Making our stay a most relaxing and perfect stay. We will definitely be returning and for longer next time.

We had a lovely stay at Thompson Rigg barn, we had every season during our 3 night stay but when you have your supplies in and the fire on, nothing else matters but to relax. The hot tub is huge, everything you could need for a comfortable stay provided, including mote than enough wood for the fire and the lovely touch of the coffee, beer and prosecco. A definite recommendation for a calm and relaxing break away from the rest of the world

Genuinely the most relaxing break weve ever had. I was looking for somewhere secluded and this was just perfect. The barn was better than in the pictures, the conversation so well thought out to accommodate every need. We brought a good supply of food and drink as the barn is a good 20 minutes from anywhere which is exactly why it appeals. We stayed 3 nights and could have happily stayed a week and not moved from the cabin. Watching the sunrise and sunset in the hot tub was a highlight well never forget. The owners are lovely and live in the farm house next door but its far enough away to feel completely secluded. Thankyou Alan and Helen for the most amazing few days, it really was just what we needed.

Before we entered the barn Buddy the donkey and Shevy the sheep came running across the field to say hello, just perfect. The log burning fire and hot tub made it a cozy and relaxing stay, The barn was immaculate throughout with everything that you needed and more. Lots of information inside the barn and from Helen and Alan of places to visit , were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent direction as they were greatly needed due to the remoteness of the barn and the short cut directions through the woods were helpful when we arrived. Perfect holiday, perfect hosts, absolutely perfect. If you need a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of life, this is the place to be.

We enjoyed the fact we were surrounded by walks, with the reward of a relaxing soak in the hot tub in the evening. The barn is finished to a high standard and is a beautiful place to relax. Alan and Helen left us to enjoy our break but were very helpful if we needed anything. We were left with some bubbly and other nice treats, and Alan made sure we were topped up with logs for the fire. We would highly recommend the Barn and hope we can return in the future.

My second stay here, had such a relaxing holiday I wanted to go again and Im not one for going the same place twice. The barn is lovely, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Much thought has gone into it. Hosts very welcoming, there if you need anything but left to get on. Hot tub well maintained too. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch. The donkeys love a carrot and its fun to feed them. Stargazing is amazing too. Perfect spot to relax, read and recharge. If you are looking to get away from it all in beautiful surroundings and comfort Id recommend.

What a fantastic property and hosts. We've stayed in quite a few over the years but this is in our top 3 and we will be returning, possibly later on next year to experience the autumn winter months. If you want somewhere remote where you can give your brain a reboot, then this is the property to do it in.
