We booked this holiday for our first Christmas and we were not disappointed at all the cabin its self is beautiful and the views of the lakes to the surrounding nature made this truly tranquil, we took a big dog with us and the amount of space within the fenced area was more than enough for her to run around, we was welcomed with a lovely Christmas tree and little hamper, the cabin had everything you needed from a classic log burner to modern heating, it came well equipped with everything we needed for the time we stayed, amazing views, amazing walks and the hot tub was easy to use once we figured it out, 1010 we will definitely return

Had a lovely 2 night stay here for new year and had a lovely time very relaxing and everything we needed. Thank you so much for a lovely time and we will be returning.

My partner booked this cabin for my birthday getaway and we stayed here for five days and four nights and it was a lovely relaxing time away! The accommodation was how it was pictured and everything was clean when we arrived. The area itself is the show stopper with the three lakes to walk around and its a beautiful quiet place to be away. We went during early December so the water park and activities were closed but we did enjoy some time fly fishing in one of the lakes! We went into the hot tub pretty much every night and it was bliss sitting in it surrounded by nature. They provided us with a crate of logs more than we initially thought however we still needed more for the rest of our stay and ended up buying some alternative at Spar that cooked the hot tub a lot hotter. The bed itself was very comfortable and we slept soundly. We found the sofa very comfortable to sit on too. There wasnt many issues with the cabin as it had a lot of the facilities needed, however some minor things needed were a sponge instead of a cloth for washing the pots, somecleaning spray to help wipe down the counters when we were tidying up, and spare bin liners available. Someone in a previous review did mention the toilet roll hanger was loose and it still was for our visit but it wasnt an issue for us.

Absolutely amazing location with no one around apart from the occasional fisherman. The fridge wasn't very clean and a bit of mould in shower, which could have been sorted quite easily. Felt it needed just a bit of TLC needed. A few extras to make it special, like a torch for walks aound park, kitchen accessories maybe. But saying this it was absolutely lovely.

Overall the accommodation was very good. It's the second time we've stayed there and it suits us well. Two issues come to mind that require attention. Firstly the toilet roll holder in the shower room was hanging off the wall and was unusable. It had clearly been faulty for some time and a very amateur attempt made to repair it. Secondly we were unable to use the oven hob, for the duration of our visit, because we didn't know how to operate it and there was no information to direct us in how to use it. That having been said we found the place suited our needs admirably.

Really lovely property, the location is beautiful. Had everything we needed inside, only improvement would be a comfier sofa and chair. But we didnt sit inside too much anyway. We loved the peace and quiet. Thank you for the welcome pack . Also liked the ease of arrival and key location .

The cottage was just as advertised. It was cosy and clean and a very peaceful place to stop. The staff at the water centre were welcoming and helpful. It was a lovely base to return to after a full day of sightseeing but the walk around the lake was very pleasant as well.

This is the 2nd time we have booked this accommodation, its perfect for us and out German Shepard. The water park is great to walk round and the people are extremely welcoming. The accommodation is sufficient for our needs, easy access to Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Our entry to Lake View Lodge was some what of a task in its self as we arrived after the park closed. However once we gained entry to the park and at the lodge we where blown away. The welcome package for us and our dog and the Christmas Tree made it feel very festive. We loved the fully equipped kitchen, made preparing meals easy. Loved the walk in shower. The whole layout of the lodge was prefect given its size and the views were spectacular. If you like to eat out we would recommend the Ye Old Forge Valley Inn in West Ayton, or The Mayfield in Seamer. Both allow dogs inside. We have enjoyed our stay and would look to rebook in the future. However, this would also depend on few things being fixed, replaced etc, which we have directly emailed the owners and Sykes about. We did read the reviews prior to booking the lake view lodge, which gave us an insight as to what to expect Despite the list of things that need addressing and things that we think could add. We didnt want to end the email on a negative note and wanted to we had a good time, enjoyed the hot tub, sitting out on a morning watching the world go by and would definitely recommend the lodge to family and friends. As well as rebooking ourselves.

Very cosy, loved the welcome pack including the dog biscuits. The facilities were good, with everything you need. The bed was really comfortable. However, the communication and welcome from the staff was very limited. The bathroom radiator and toilet roll holder needs attention. The Hot Tub was fantastic.

On arrival, everything looks perfect, logs provided as listed, but only 1 firefighter and no matches. The fridge has a broken shelf on the door, where milk and bottles should go, but we managed ok. The shower screen support bracket is loose, insecure, and could potentially be a danger if left in this condition. The log burner was full of ashes, and burnt wood, obviously not been cleaned or emptied it out since last used, we had to clean it before we could light it. In the cupboard with the dishes, there were a large spider inside one of the dishes, complete with web, and one of the smaller cereal dishes has a dirty crack in it. Also, the burner for the hot tub was full of ashes too, this had to be emptied out and cleaned before use. On the whole we were pleased with the welcome pack, dog biscuits and bucksfizz etc. We would like to say, we actually left the cottage in a cleaner condition than we found it, hence we were actually 10 minutes past the checkout time before we left.

Our third stay for a long weekend and we will be back. Just perfect for a couple wanting a bit of quiet RnR in the middle of nature. Love it!

The welcome pack was much appreciated and the position of the lodge was ideal with views over the fishing lakes. We could not locate any details of the WiFi and had to call up to get these. There was an issue with a couple of leaks in the roof during periods of heavy rain which had been reported previously. A better sofa would make the stay more comfortable and a supply of light bulbs would be useful for when needed. On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake View Lodge.

Beautiful setting very quiet if you would like to relax whilst on holiday but also has the opportunity to do water activities and plenty of walks. The lodge was very comfortable and the welcome pack was a lovely gesture. The only suggestion would be to change the sofa as it was a bit small for two adults to relax comfortably and a bit of maintenance in the bathroom but nothing that spoilt the holiday. The wood fired hot tub is a brilliant idea easy to use and a welcome addition to the lodge.

We both loved the lodge. Location is great and it was lovely inside and out. Very pieceful. I have nothing to complain about. I have sent an email regarding a small leak from the log burner when it was raining, mainly so it doesn't any damage to the lodge itself

Had the most amazing stay at the lake view lodge, perfect size for 2 and our dog, kitchen fully equipped for all your needs everywhere all clean and tidy nothing bad to be said! The staff that we met were so helpful and polite, well done to all, thank you. The setting is full of amazing views, all the lakes look beautiful, clear water etc, the water park is great too as we took our own paddleboards went to some attractions not far from site, will definitely recommend! We have had a fantastic stay. The cabin is beautiful and surroundings so peaceful. It has been the perfect get away from our busy lives. We will be back!!! Bed comfy, kitchen facilities fantastic we cooked in twice, bathroom modern and clean, log burner perfect touch, hot tub such a luxury we loved it on an evening. The only suggestion we would have would be to change the sofa to a larger corner sofa as the sofa is not comfy. It is so lovely to sit and look across to the ponds in the morning and in the evenings but we didnt find it that comfy on the small leather sofa. Although the breakfast bar looks lovely we wondered if this actually would get used and if instead a larger corner sofa would make the cabin more practical, appealing and comfy. This said, we absolutely loved our stay. The perfect time away for my 40th birthday and escape from our busy lives. Thank you.

We stayed last year and was extremely disappointed. This year it is good to see a different sofa. We enjoyed the holiday and would stay again. TV needs to be replaced due to lines down the front and incorrect remote control. Overall good!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay so much we have booked the same accommodationweek next year, the site staff were lovely and welcoming, our German Shepard loved the outside space. I couldn't recommend this accommodation more. the walks around the lakes were refreshing and at times after 1800 we were the only people in the park

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The facilities were good, it was clean and there were nice touches such as welcome basket. The scenery was beautifiul and its in such a fantastic place surrounded by lake and was so peaceful.There are a few minor improvements which can be made, for example using mesh at the bottom of the fencing so small dogs are secure, more firewood. The only negative for us was we did not realise how close the carparks were to the lodge but it did not effect us as much at this time of year.

Good location and facilities however lodge is very close to fishing lake which was busy most of the day and the gardens are overlooked. Garden not secure for small dogs.

I have already filled one feed back , the property was two small only a very small sofa ,the floor creaked ,the furniture out side was worn out . We booked for a week stayed only two nights .

Myself and my partner stayed Friday to Monday. Fantastic location only 7 miles from Scarborough. Was amazing to relax in the hot tub in the evening listening to the birdsong. Lodge well equipped and very cosy. We shall definitely be revisiting in the near future.

I had a great stay at the lodge, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Only complaints Id have was the shower wasnt very hot & very low pressure, I was told Id have a little pile of lodges for the fire & hot tub but I was left with one single log for both, and upon arrival the bins hadnt been emptied outside of the property which wasnt the best of welcomings. But overall the location, the setting and the lodge itself was perfect, just needs a little tlc to bring it up to scratch. Id definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone. Plus my dog loved every minute with loads of space to run about and explore, cant put a price on that.

Hi, 2nd time staying. Love the location. However, the cottage is definitely more 'used' than last time we stayed. The bathroom has nearly 0 hot water which is something we raised in March and the drains are pretty blocked. We would also recommend bug spray etc as there was a lot of mosquitosspiderswasps as should be expected. Lovely stay overall but some improvements could be made this time.

A really pleasant holiday experience in a cabin in a woodland glade in a fenced and gated area. The chalet had every thing you could need for a prefect holiday. A really quiet spot in your own woodland no traffic noise only the occasional fisher man arriving, at night a really peaceful experience. Plus the wood fired hot tub is great fun to play with.The Scarborough Park and ride is only 15 minutes drive,free parking and cheap fares, Myself my wife and our chocolate Labrador had a wonderful time. Ill be BACK!
