On the arrival day we had to phone Paul becuase we could not find the property. He came out of his house and we could see him so we were not far away. Paul came in with us and showed us round and how everything worked which was brilliant. Great location for us and the hot tub was an added bonus

Everything about the cottage was perfect. The hot tub was great. The owner Paul greeted us on arrival to make sure everything was okay,then left us to it. Such a lovely area lots to see and do. Would highly recommend this cottage.

We stayed last October and gave the place an absolutely glowing review, we stayed last week and well. .......... it was still just as wonderful. Location, accommodation, cleanliness, hot tub everything was brilliant. As always Paul was helpful and lovely, cheers for a great week mate. My only slight gripe was the bed was too firm for us and meant we didn't sleep as well as we'd hoped but obviously that's a personal thing, some prefer a firmer mattress. Will we stay again? You betcha.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wagtail nest. It was clean and well presented and very comfortable. The hot tub was a real bonus. The location of the property is perfect for exploring all the main towns and villages. There are great pubs and lovely tea rooms close by. We had a lovely time! We have stayed at the cottage twice now and it has been great both times. It is clean, cosy and comfortable. We love the hot tub as well! The location is great, with lovely countryside views. We would definitely recommend and we already want to come back a third time!

Had a fabulous week here, a lovely welcome basket awaited our arrival full of goodies for ourselves as well as our dog. Everything you need in this lovely quiet spot.The hot tub is amazing, the garden is small but still big enough for a table and 2 chairs to enjoy the sunshine.There is a lovely paddock to exercise your dogs in.Despite being next door to the owners you never hear them, but they are available if you have any enquiries. Lovely place to explore the surrounding countryside and parks. We were lucky enough to see deer ,owls and bats. The only downfall is that it's a double rather than a kingsize bed, but that hasn't put us off as we have already booked to return next year. A great place to distress and chill out.

Wagtail cottage provided an excellent base for us to visit Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and other local spots and being a couple of miles from the nearest village gave us a quiet and peaceful break which we wanted, Also the privacy the cottage gave made it easy to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day with views of rolling fields and distant bleats of sheep could not have been better, All rooms were perfect and clean with a well equipped kitchen. Paul was friendly and welcoming and made a nice fuss of our little dog, I would not hesitate to book this accommodation again. Thanks again.

This is a beautiful little cottage, we've stayed here twice before and would definitely be back again. Just perfect!!!

This small cottage was perfect for our last minute winter break with our dog. Everything that we needed was there. Host was friendly and attentive if needed. Hot tub was great, and the cottage decor cosy and relaxing. Would advise arriving in daylight as the local area signal wasnt great, and affected Sat nav phone maps etc but the cottage is obvious from the road. Lovely stay and will go back as fantastic base for exploring Yorkshire coastline

He also popped by to say if there was anything to just let him know! There were treats in the property when we arrived which was really sweet, and it was very dog friendly.

The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed for our short break. Paul met us on arrival and checked in to make sure everything was good. The location is perfect for exploring local areas, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough are just short drives away. We spent a day exploring the trails from the different parking areas on the side of the road, also highly recommend the walk down to Hayburn Wyke Waterfall. Lots of dog friendly pubs in the local villages to eat at. The cottage is cozy to come back to after a day walking. There was a little hamper on arrival including dog treats. And finally the hottub was the perfect end to a day exploring! We had a brilliant stay and will definitely return, thank you!

Lovely little place, but wasn't exactly clean in the bathroom. Toothpaste still on the sink and pink bacteria and mould in the shower. And thick grime under the shower tap that wiped off easily. Dust webs a plenty in the open plan kitchenfrontroom, and the bedroom and the kitchen sink had an orange rim round it from the last person who had washed up. Had to clean all this before I could relax. The bed needs a new mattress as its like sleeping on a piece of plywood and didn't have a mattress protector on it. And the pillow protectors were stained needed a wash. Lovely place with lovely views, but just needs a proper clean between guests.

I literally cant rate this place highly enough. Everything we needed was there, everything was clean and tidy too. The welcome tray was a lovely touch and the hot tub, oh my goodness the hot tub was maaaarrrvellous. Paul knocked the door to introduce himself and answer any questions we may have had on the first evening but that was the last we saw of him. We could contact him should we have needed him but never did. It was quiet, peaceful and utterly wonderful. In the words of the poet and wise man Arnold Schwarzenegger, 'I'll be back'

Nice place, well presented, convenient and quiet location, the welcome pack was welcomed and an excellent host. There is a paddock opposite for running dogs and a distance foot path along the adjacent fields for longer walks or morning and evening walks. Not a busy path. Location handy for trips to local villages and into Scarborough, Whitby if travelling into Whitby by car, I recommend the park & ride bus service and Filey The Country park is a good place to run dogs, picnic and walk into Filey.
