Destiny Rose, Whitby

Very nice property, well situated, well maintained. Our only minor gripe was that the instructions said the bins would be picked up on Monday but they were actually picked up empty on Thursday.

Destiny Rose is such a great place to stay! Its got everything you need even a cheese grater! Its one of the best accommodated kitchen we have stayed in and it was very comfortable! The hot tub was obviously a great added extra and we would definitely stay here again. It was clean and provided cleaning items such as washing up liquid tablets for the washer and also the dishwasher. A great added extra. It isnt too far to walk into Whitby its self and the weather was good to us. A great week and enough space for 7 to stay so we were very comfy with five and a fluffy friend.

Had a lovely time at Destiny Rose. The kitchen is equipped well and the beds were really comfortable. Accommodation in an amazing location only 10 minutes walk from Whitby shops and the Cinder path. Would definitely go back.

Group holiday, and really lovely place to stay, all beds so comfortable, great amount of space in all areas of the house. The house was really cool downstairs in this hot heat. The Hot Tub was amazing, highly recommend this property to stay in beautiful Whitby, we will be staying there again.

Perfect property for 4 of us, giving each our own room. Addition of hot tub was nice. When I originally booked the property it described a dog secure garden but this has now been removed. The only secure area was the artificial grass round the hot tub in the tiny courtyard. This meant I did have to take two nervous dogs 5 toilet walks a day on a very busy road. The maintenance issue is mainly the rusty latch and bolt on the back gate. The property was very clean and well equipped but quite a challenging walk to the town centre for someone with limited walking ability. There was no street parking available and parking for 2 cars at the rear is possible but quite tight.

On arrival, the property looked clean i could see the carpet had been vacuumed, towels and sheets were clean. However, it became very clear that what was needed was a deep clean. The issues were loads of dust under the sofas and armchairs, cobwebs throughout old and black and outside, dust on the light fittings, mould on the bathroom sealant and grouting was not clean. Also we had an issue where the door broke and we could not lock it i had to sit with a chair in front of it for over an hour until someone came to fix it. We could not turn the oven on and it turned out that it had tripped and the fuse box needed resetting the main oven still did not work. there was no apology from the owner and in fact the comment on the oven was 'well, it worked at christmas!' and he was chuckling. hopefully this was just down to nerves. i would not recommend the property or stay again.

We had a fabulous family stay, 4 nights over Christmas. The house feels very homely and is equipped with anything and everything you could possibly need. Very comfy beds and immaculately clean. The house is in a great location, a short walk down to the harbour, handy for supermarkets, restaurants and shopping. We will definitely look at coming to stay again in the future and will be telling all our friends about it.

Excellent location for both town and coastal areas. Plenty of parking. Cosy accommodation with all the facilities you could want. Plenty of kitchen crockery etc to help diy catering and loads of towels. Hot tub is a definite plus. Handbook needs updating re refuse collection. Would rebook in future.

Destiny Rose is a beautiful, spacious villa. The beds were very comfortable. It had Instant hot water, and easily controlled heating system. It had everything provided for a very comfortable stay, and included tea, coffee, sugar, milk, condiments etc for an easy arrival. It's position is great, just a 10 15 minutes stroll past the museum and down into town, with two parking spaces at the rear like gold dust in Whitby and free onstreet parking at the front, if you can get a spot. We would definitely recommend Destiny Rose, and would stay again. 5

Destiny Rose is incredibly spacious and comfortable really good value for money. Location was great 10 mins to seafront. John replied promptly to our questions and was a great host. We would definitely stay again. Our only issue was lack of clarity from Yorkshire Coastal Cottages around the cancellation policy I suggest anyone thinking of booking read the fine print in detail and ask directly about refund policy before booking.

Destiny Rose is a spacious, comfortable, wellfurnished & provisioned house. I was staying with a group of friends who were all helping with a music festival taking place at the Whitby Pavilion so we were delighted when we discovered the cutthroughsnicket giving us fast pedestrian access to the venue. Everyone loved their rooms, the super king beds are enormous and the bathrooms are clean and pleasant. The kitchen is wellstocked and there was plenty of room around the dining table and on comfortable lounge seats & settees. Allinall an ideal base for our weekend activities. We'll be booking again for 2026 !

Destiny Rose was a very comfortable house to stay in, located within reasonable walking distance of Whitby Harbour and town centre. Car parking was a bit tight at the back of the property but as our friends only had a small car, we managed. There was work going on next door so tradesmens vans outside on the road most of the time. The kitchen had everything you needed if you wished to cook for yourself but we tended to eat out. We were disappointed to find when we went to use the grill, that the pan had been left greasy and dirty by a previous guest. We did clean it so as not to be blamed but felt the cleaner should have picked it up. The rest of the property was clean and tidy and we made sure we left it as we found it. We did manage to use the hot tub a few times to ease our aching legs after all the walking up and down hills. We would recommend Destiny Rose for a family or a group of friends to stay in.

A comfortable and spacious house within walking distance of the town. Two points 1. The 1st floor shower, we had difficulty maintaining the flow to the shower as the pull up from the bath would not stay in place. 2. It was impossible to park near to the house on the street. The rear parking was barely accessible.

Very comfortable, close to all attractions. Hot tub amazing definatly stay there again.

Wow. What amazing property. Just a small suggestion, you may need to get a some large cooking pots. Apart from that brilliant. Perfect for a large family.

Another very comfortable stay at Destiny Rose, comfy beds great tv's. Front fence of the property is disintegrating and needs attention. Could have done with a couple more dishwasher tablets and two bin bags simply wasn't enough. Had to buy cleaning products also as we like to leave places clean, thing it would be a good idea to leave some basics fir guests.

We were pleasantly surprised that the house was clean and very comfortable after reading mixed reviews about this. The living room furniture is dated, but the sofa and chairs are very comfortable. The beds were a great size and comfortable. The bedding was good quality. The kitchen was well equipped, but some kitchen scissors would have been useful. The house is in a great location and it was easy to walk into the centre of Whitby from it. The parking was not a problem and we found space directly outside the house. In all we had a really lovely weekend and would recommend Destiny Rose as a great homely place to stay.

On arrival dead sunflowers on table, cracked glass, dirty oven, freezer not overly clean, garden neglected, bath mat dirty. Lounge and bedrooms spacious and comfortable

The property was very pleasant and overall clean,the freezer draws need a clean as does the oven,I appreciate that trying to get this done between guests can be difficult. Also a pair of scissors and bread knife would be useful unless we just didnt see them. Saying all this I would recommend this property

Property was good value for money, clean and two double bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. We made good use of the games, jigsaws and DVDs available. Also only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, Abbey and train station so we did not need to use our vehicles parked a car and transit van at the back of the property. The only issues we had was that the stair gate was too narrow for use at the top of the stairs I would be worried that somebody may try and use this and have an accident and there were only 5 towels available despite there being 7 of us staying 5 adults and 2 children.

Lovely accommodation, great beds, settees and arm chairs not very comfortable, had to give the place a good clean when we arrived, cooker hob left with food residue on it, coffee table still had ring marks and alot of dust everywhere, had to hoover through aswell, bathroom floor still had toothepaste on floor and build up of dust in corners, I've left the property cleaner than what we was greeted with, but once I'd bottomed the cleaning we really enjoyed our stay.

Looks old style but dont be fooled very comfortable accommodation. Very good facilities,we had a kettle fail but it was replaced and delivered by next morning. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone also short walk into whitby.

Lounge cushion covers could do with a wash and courtyard could have been swept but otherwise a great property and well appointed, I would recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

The house was spotlessly nice and clean and very comfortable,just a short walk to the harbour and shops. A lovely welcome pack of Tea,Coffee,Milk,Sugar and Biscuits. They was one slight hicup When coming in from the court yard to go in the utility room with wet feet from the false grass it made the tiled floor very slippy so we had to take the rug from the hall way and put it down in the utility room the problem was then solved.We had a lovely relaxing stay it was just a shame we could not take our two little dogs in the park which was a five min walk away No dogs aloud. It was good to be able to park at the back of the property. We would book Destiny Rose again, and definitely recommend it to any one thinking of booking this holiday property.

Destiny Rose was perfect for our party, 4 Adults and a dog. Lots of space, really comfy beds and everything we could possibly want or need in the kitchen. Even the dining chairs were comfy, we sat at the table and played games one night, it was great fun. The free parking for 2 cars is a bonus. Its a fair walk to the centre of Whitby, but we liked that. A very enjoyable stay.

This was our 2nd time staying at the property and we have just booked our 3rd stay. House is homely and comfortable, the beds are amazing, I have asked where I can buy one of the duvets from as slept amazingly with it. The arms chairs and brown leather sofa are not the most comfortable, however they are acceptable but you do sink down in them and slide a little. The oven had not been cleaned very well, there was fat at the bottom of the oven which smoked and smelt when we used it. Also it would help to leave cleaning products to clean the work surfaces and the yard, as this may encourage people to do it if available. Internet box could do with being on a shelf, it is currently on top of the shoe box, however it got knocked over getting coats or lifting the box lid and if placed on the floor the internet signal was poor. Outside yard was washed down when the dog had been out there, but I think the astroturf has urine soaked in, as one day it was fairly warm with the sun on it and it stunk, despite me washing the yard. It may be better without the Astroturf as it will be easier to clean and less likely to hold liquid. I was informed about there being staining on the main bedroom ceiling from a leak however we unfortunately had very heavy rain one night and woke to hear drip drip drip. An emergency repair was booked and later in the week we had heavy rain but no issue with a bedroom water feature. So fingers crossed all will be sorted until roof is replaced next month. Location of the house is brilliant, and parking for two cars is excellent once you master the reverse into the drive We have found some brilliant places to eat over the past two years dog friendly Rusty Shears off Flowergate The Yorkshire wraps are huge and tasty Dog even got treated to a portion of sausage by the staff Sherlocks flowergate We found this place last year and it is still as good Carrot cake is amazing as are the scones Coffee is good and always hot Chapel on the hill Brunswick st left card in the house We went on the first day and planned to go on our last day but it was shut. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was scrummy, with lots of choice. Fuzzy dog bakery flowergate Dream place for our dog, the owner makes a fuss of the dog and gives them a treat or 3. Lovely friendly shop, I was so pleased to see that they were still open. Beach and rock pools, wed only used the beach on the west cliff side, however on our last day we followed the path to the left at the bottom of the abbey steps and followed the street down to the jetty and pier from here there was plenty of sand areas and rock pools, will definitely explore this more next year. Pannet Park Whitby museum The park is nice and clean and good for children, we also found a community book library within the community garden. Museum is free for children or 8 for adults 12 months entry it was interesting with lots of collections. I did leave our tickets in the house if anyone wants to use to gain entry left with the leaflets in the dining room Its official my heart is lost to Whitby

We arrived to bowls on the floor of the double front bedroom room with water leaking through the roof. One bed had not been made up. We found a small maggot on the mattress, still alive and wriggling. I think it was a bed worm. It was dirty. Balls of fluff on the floor behind the doors and under the sofas. Red water marks in the bath. I made a complaint to the cleaning company, who arrived within 30 minutes, made the bed, hoovered upstairs and removed the maggot on the mattress. The lady was lovely and really helpful. The downstairs shower was not working, this was not rectified during our visit. The isolation switch was switched on. The owner has given us 125 refund. We looked for alternative accommodation, but none was available.

We had yet another lovely holiday at Destiny Rose. This is a great place to stay for a holiday in Whitby.

We had a great week at Destiny rose,both super king beds were very comfy,although there were 2 bathrooms the downstairs didn't get used to much as it was cold and no way of locking the door which meant the 1st floor bathroom had a few queues. The single bedroom was very compact when made up as a double.idealy i think if the property were advertised as a 2 bed with 2 ensuites it would be perfect.parking was useful at the back although a little tight.But after saying all of the above the property was clean and we had a wonderful stay. Ps,shame about the building work at 39,still drilling and banging at 930 one night.and the tv could do with being a lot larger.Anthony B

The property is comfortable, spacious and ideally situated for the beach and west cliff. Unfortunately we were plagued with noise from the building works next door with a lot of dust, and sometimes debris. in the yard. The yard is not the most pleasant with weeds around the sides including a 6ft sycamore and untended pot plants.

New microwave, deep clean needed, courtyard needs tidying up

Good size Holliday house, well equipped, good positioning & great to have parking at rear. Beds were comfortable with clean fresh bed linen & towels. Massively let down by cleanliness of the house. Hit by unpleasant smell & hovered on arrival. In desperate need of a deep clean as previously stated in reviews. Owner being mugged off by cleaning company. Outside area in need of some TLC. Dead plants in pots & on walls cluttering up the space. & possibly some Jays fluid or alike as got pungent when the sun hit it. Dogs urinal I understand dogs are allowed but without good cleaning inbetween lets it creates unpleasant problems. Spent most of our time out of the property enjoying the town & meeting up with some of the family. Would recommend Whitby as a Holliday destination.

Loved our stay at Destiny Rose. It is a beautiful property. Lovely, spacious and fun. The kitchen and utilities facilities are great though we didn't use them much. It's in a great position for the town. Parking on the road is a challenge especially when neighbours down the road put out cones to block parking! Fortunately there is parking around the back and I did get the hang of multi point turning to get out! Overall we loved it. We may well return to Whitby and Destiny Rose will top the list for where to stay.

Excellent stay well equipped and comfortable and character. Plenty room. Note to park at rear drive in to the driveway on right then back up to the yard. Then you can get out easy. Neighbor was friendly. Note sign does not say number 41 at entrance track. Whitby is lovely and Robin Hood Bay a must! 10 mins to town and museum 1 mins! Go to museum and see amazing items eg where the word hangover comes from! We all had fantastic sleeps really good beds. Negatives are really minor bedroom door doesnt close fully, lots dust in places not important eg under beds, cuboard top surface, curtains dont block light, promanade is 10 mins but beach is another 10 mins owing to the bank to get to the sand. Get a fantastic photo of priory in evening from end of the nearest pier. The light then nakes an incredible scene. Go in church next to abbey its very interesting and much better value than abbey. Thanks for a great holiday in a very good location and all important very comfy beds!

Destiny Rose is ideally placed to visit Whitby, which is within walking distance 5 10 Minutes, and other surrounding towns such as Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay. It is also not too far from York, which makes it a great place to stay. It has very good accommodation, which was clean and you can log into all your accounts for TV buffs.
