Lonsdale Villa, Scarborough

The facilities were good ensuites in rooms was very nice, and the social spaces are OK. But the hot tub stopped working on the second day, and even after repeated engineer visits, it kept breaking. Also, at least one of the room lights didn't work. One of the showers was fully broken and we had to wait for an engineer for it to come and be replaced.

Lonsdale Villa is a wonderful house for a large family group . Its in a great position and we all enjoyed Scarborough. Lots of things to do and we had wonderful weather. Would highly recommend this property !

This venue was not up to our expectations. The kitchen lacked any large pans. Two showers did not work, five guests had to share. The jacuzzi failed to work after three days and tripped the fuses so that the upper floors had no power,we managed to restore it but the tub leaked .The drain blocked up spilling water over the outside space. A toilet brush handle broke.The cleaning staff are doing a good job in keeping the place clean and the bedding was fresh. The place felt tired,there is a for sale sign outside which suggests to us that the owner does not want to spend money on the property which is understandable but there could be heath and safety issues which need addressing.

We had a wonderful weekend at Lonsdale Villa, thank you. There were 15 of us plus one child who uses a heavy wheelchair and the property was perfect for us. It was just as described on the website and very clean and well equipped. The 'welcome' box left for us on the kitchen table with tea, coffee and snacks was a lovely surprise! and the dishcloths, teatowels, fairy liquid, dishwasher tablets etc were a bonus too. If you're cooking, remember to take your own oven gloves as we couldn't find any. If I had one suggestion which would have made our stay a bit easier, it would be about the ramp which gives disabled access to the property. It didn't match the height of the step at the front door, so getting the wheelchair in and out was a bit tricky. Other than that, it was brilliant and we will be back next year.

Family Reunion, arrived in the Dark. The house is immaculate. It is huge but was lovely and warm throughout. the Hot Tub went down a treat. Lovely area and just a few mins walk to the Funicular and the Italian Gardens. Very Happy. Thanks.

We were a group of ladies who sing in Rock Choir & were singing at The Spa. The house was pristine. Bedrooms were great although the info on the website was a bit confusing as to which floor they were on! It was lovely and warm even though we were careful with the heating. We could have done with another dozen mugs as we spent the whole time washing them & we were pleased wed all brought extra t towels. Great welcome pack including a bottle of Prosecco! However the tv in the lounge wouldnt play BBC1 & other chanels disappointing for Strictly! One lady said the bath towel was more hand towel sized & shes not big! One rooms loo seat was only screwed in on one side bit disconcerting. The alarm kept on going off with a fault somewhat annoying. Didnt use the hot tub as the outside area wasnt very inviting. Another floor light in the lounge behind the tv would have been good. Loved the flowers and lights on the dining tables. Overall we had a lovely few days and would definitely use it again if needed.

This was a spectacular place to stay. A huge house, extremely wellequipped. Very close to the town centre and the sea. We had a minor maintenance issue which was sorted promptly the hosts are responsive and helpful. The children loved being able to run around the place. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need. Only comment is that the downstairs bedroom is up two steps we were able to manage this but do bear this in mind if you have a wheelchair user. But really we could not fault this property.

We had a fantastic time, the house was great, it had everything we wanted and needed. Would definitely recommend to friends and family xx

We had a fantastic reunion at Lonsdale Villa and were blown away with the space! Obviously the listing states 11 bedrooms with en suites but we were also so pleased to find each room was spacious and well maintained and each en suite also had full showers and not just WCs. Only comment I would have is it felt that some of the facilities were only there after having been left by previous holiday makers only partial toilet paper rolls and some ensuites without hand soap. Not a disaster as these are easily purchased but just would have been nice to know that we needed to include some of the basics on the shopping list! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Lonsdale villa was the perfect place for our family holiday, we were celebrating our Diamond wedding 60yrs our daughters 50th birthday and grandsons 29th birthday all on the same week. The Villa was spotless on arrival and we had a nice welcome pack with even a bottle of nice Spanish wine. All the bedrooms were comfortable and plenty of rooms in the villa for chilling out. It is only a short walk into town and even nearer to the tram that takes you down to the seashore. We had no problems in the villa so didn't need to contact Natalie but was contacted after we left to make sure all had gone well. As you will have noticed I gave a negative on the Accuracy of listing as when we booked we were told that there was off street parking and this was not so. Some days it was a problem as we had 6 cars for a few days. The listing has now been changed so you are made aware that it is only on street parking. All in all we had a great family holiday with some meals cooked in the large kitchen with just about everything you could need. I would definately recommend this villa as long as you know about the parking. Keith Sutcliffe

This property is perfect for large families groups of friends. Lots of space for the children to do their own thing whilst the parents enjoy the large living area. The location is within a 10 min walk to the centre of Scarborough. Natalie is very helpful and gave clear instructions on the property.

Lovely place, perfect location, 4 family generations came together for a fantastic couple of days, would highly recommend!

22 members of our family gathered at Lonsdale Villa to celebrate Christmas

All of our family had a great holiday this weekend and Lonsdale Villa was a great place to spend it. Great location very comfortable place, And a lovely touch with the Christmas decorations made it feel very homely.

We stayed at Lonsdale villa for a 70th Birthday celebration. A family of 12 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. The villa was very clean, cosy and spacious. We were welcomed with a lovely hamper full of treats, thank you to the owners for that. We had everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen to do our own cooking, pots, pans cutlery and glassware, loads of fridgefreezer space & kitchen cupboard space, it was lovely to come together in the kitchen sitting at the island whilst cooking etc to chat about our plans & put the world to rights! The lounge and snug worked well for us were well furnished and comfortable, we enjoyed doing our own quizzes and bingo at the lovely big dining room table. All the bedrooms were well equipped, spacious and comfortable with lots of storage and all have en suites, the kids made good use of the games room on the top floor, It was a bonus to have the hot tub in the enclosed private garden area, great to relax in and the kids loved it too. The location was perfect, a nice short walk to the lovely Italian gardens and about ten minutes walk down to the front, we felt very safe in the area even at night time. Great communication from Natalie throughout who was quick to respond when we had an enquiry and soon solved our request efficiently. My only suggestion & just a thought would be to have some picnic ware for using in the hot tub, maybe a mop would be handy too for wet feet when coming back through the kitchen area from the hot tub. We enjoyed our stay so much that we hope to make it an annual event as a family and would recommend without hesitation, great value for money, 1010 all round, thank you.

We on the whole had a really nice stay and the cottage almost fully met our needs. The property had plenty of space and was very clean. It was well situated at the top of the cliffs with a fairly short walk down to the beach. for a group family get together it was brilliant. We would have given more for comfort and facilities but we had a few minor issues with some of the lights one which flickered all the time in the living room and one that only turned on if you pulled it at an exact angle, the toilet in the downstairs bed room. We went the shops to buy bigger cups and glasses as even thought there are loads they are really tiny which will have worked fine for a b and b but not so practical for people staying in groups. We also felt the property guide could have done with a bit more information in, especially with regards to how to prepare for departure. I do feel the listing is misleading with regards to parking, as it implies there is plenty of OFF ROAD parking and this is not the case. There is no off road parking and some of the near by roads apparently are permit only, although this may be seasonal as we saw no signs. This did not cause us a massive problem but did mean that cars were not parked within site of the property and I think this could be challenging in summer.

It was a very well located and facilitated property that had plenty of room for all 19 of us. It was very clean and comfortable as well and we had a lovely food hamper waiting for us. The only issue was all the different correspondence I received, from either Sykes, the cleaning company or the actual owners by text and email. It was very confusing and mixed messages were sent e.g we were led to believe we could check in at 3pm but the day before arrival we were told checkin wasn't until 4pm.

My whole family 22 in total from old to young stayed over bank holiday weekend. The villa was a street away from the beach and beautiful views!!! Literally a 15 minute walk away from the pier All rooms had working electric showers Heating was no issue at all Lovely kitchen for us to cook in which we did A LOT OF being a typical Asian family! Natalie was MORE than helpful in addressing any issues we had, always ready on call or message to solve any issues and bless her she even dropped some snacks off! We were welcomed with a lovely welcoming basket full of snacks already! Kids fell in love with the place we stuck them up in the second floor which had its own sitting room, games room with ps4, bathroom and a huge kingsize bedroom The layout of the villa Is like an intriguing maze, everyone had plenty of space to themselves, huge dining room area we could all sit as a family 18 people, baby cot and high chair was provided for the little ones, plenty of cutlery and dinner sets for the whole family and a perfectly working dish washer! Oh and theres a utility room with extra fridges and freezers, washing machines and a dryer! Layout GROUND FLOOR HUGE kitchen dining room to seat 18 people Two sitting rooms next to each other double room perfect for those who dont like stairs utility room behind sitting room FIRST FLOOR straight up the stairs double room family room double and single bed single room twin room Then a wing to the right of the stairs, two steps down has a single and a double, and up another set of stairs separate some stairs another single and double SECOND FLOOR large double room with Bathtub kingside bedroom no ensuit but its a massive room and right next to the bathroom bathroom with bathtub games room with ps4 which has a double and single sofa bed Sittinglounge room with nice sofalounge chairs All bedrooms have ensuite with showers or tub mentioned above EXCEPT for the kingsize room Definitely go for a walk through the Italian gardens, view the sunset in the morning, watch the stars at night as all street lights are turned off, we went for loads of midnight walks and felt very safe Lovely little town wed love to visit again

Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Everyone was impressed by the kitchen and the welcome basket was a lovely touch and appreciated by all. As we were the first group we would recommend this to anyone.
