Royal Victoria House Reviews

Graham
Just a short stay for us to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday with all the children and grandchildren. The house was huge very clean and comfortable everything in the house you could want or need. The house was well layed out comfortable and warm will definitely recommend the house to friends and family. Short walk to the beach and town centre managed to park our cars close to the house. Thank you for a lovely stay made the birthday treat special.
We had a great stay, a couple of issues with the hot tub but the owners did everything they could to fix it as quickly as possible and were really friendly with great communication. Beautiful house in a great location with everything you need for a big group! We will be back
Had a fabulous Christmas stay at Royal Victoria house. The house is huge and has original features, high ceilings and is very cosy. Well stocked in the kitchen, great hot tub, comfortable beds which provided a great sleep. Lovely bath and shower in the first floor bathroom and from other bathrooms according to family members, lots of space for all fourteen of us. Very clean and nicely decorated. Location is great with a short walk to the beach and the main town and also a quick walk to local shops. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a Scarborough break and will keep in mind for the future.
Robert
A lovely setting for a period house, like with all large old houses takes its time to warm up. Great location for family get togethers.
Amanda
Lovely location. Great facilities. Comfortable bed. Good communication from letting agent and owner.
Thomas
We booked the house to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday as we wanted somewhere large enough to accommodate our family including five grandchildren. The house is in a great location. A perfect place with everything we needed, spacious rooms, plenty of bathrooms and everywhere very clean. We loved the patio area where we sat out both evenings and enjoyed a drink after a busy day at the beach and seeing the sights. The hot tub was also a very popular feature! We would love to return.
Caroline
As a family of 13 we had a very enjoyable 4 night stay here the house is well equipped and comfortable. The location is a short walk away from the lift to get to the promenade and beach. The hot tub is a nice place to relax at the end of fun filled days! The welcome pack was good to see on arrival. Would stay here again.
Katrina
We've just returned from a lovely weekend stay from an absolutely outstanding home. The quality of everything in the home is fantastic, a well stocked kitchen and lovely quality bedding and towels. It was all immaculately clean with some lovely welcome goodies. Location is fantastic and we had ample parking on the road outside with permits we could use when out and about. Communication in the run up to and throughout our stay was great and I couldn't recommend a stay here more
We were a party of 9 Adults, 4 children 5 years and younger and 2 dogs, the house was safe, comfortable and spacious, a great place for us to all get together, a secure garden was great for the dogs and the children plus the hot tub for us adults when the children were in bed. It very close to the beach, nice morning walks, parks and pubs, we had 5 cars with us and was concerned it was only road parking but we didnt have any problems parking on the road, we had a few niggles getting used to the heating of the house due to changes in weather but a quick text to the owners and they promptly sorted us out, lovely house would definitely recommend it
We were a group of 13 football mumsfriends who enjoyed a weekend away at the house. We had a fantastic time. The house was perfect. It was clean, had lots of space, plenty of rooms with ensuites and basically had everything we could need. We wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future.
Excellent accommodation for a large group. Great location for things to do in and around Scarborough. Loved the hot tub.
Maureen
A lovely weekend was had by all. The house is amazing and the dining room was great for our large party. An easy stroll into town. Hosts are super responsive. Would recommend.
Daniel
Had a great weekend here with a group of friends, the house is huge and has all the amenities and luxuries you could want would definitely reccommend!
An absolutely wonderful stay. Spacious and considered. Our party was 14 youngest 8yo, oldest 81yo. Each had their own space with the kitchen as usual being the hub of everything. Hosts couldn't be more accommodating.
Matthew
Property is in a good location for access to all of Scarborough within 5 minutes but a nice quiet area. . The property was very clean and everything you need to relax with no worries. There is enough space for a large group or family and with toys to keep kids entertained and hot tub for adults, you can enjoy the day here without having to go out if wanted. All bedrooms and living spaces are of good size, would book again
Hayley
Had a lovely weekend with family. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need, loved that the table easily sits 14 so the whole family could eat together. Location was great for the beach, garden was ideal and enclosed for the dogs, heating and hot water were great and the hot tub was so relaxing. I was a little worried about parking because we had lots of cars between us but honestly I needn't have worried, we all parked no problem at all. If we had any criticism, some of the metal bed frames were very noisy and the property could definitely benefit from a downstairs toilet we were traveling with an 87 year old who struggled with the stairs but honestly we all really enjoyed the stay. If you are thinking of booking, do it, you wont be disappointed.
Fantastic stay for New Years family celebration. Plenty of space and comfort to accommodate our party of 14, ages 2 65. The whole house was spotlessly clean, rooms were spacious and beds comfy. Some of our favourite features were the large open kitchen, that became the main hub of the house plenty of space and everything you need for cooking up a feast for a large party We cooked 35 evenings. We also loved the large dining room table enabling us to all sit together for meals and gather for board and card games with the log burner on just perfect. The hot tub was a great addition for relaxing in once the kids were in bed. The location was perfect with the beach and the town just a short walk away we loved having a walk along the beach on New Years Day as the sun was shining. Absolute gem of a house and location well equipped for a large party we will be back Kelly & Family
Annette
The house was truly beautiful and the location was perfect. The owner had put up a Christmas tree which was a lovely touch. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hot tub excellent. The kitchen was huge, we spent a lot of time in there! A few things would have improved our stay A small welcome pack on arrival ie tea, coffee, milk, and more toilet rolls! No downstairs toilet!! The storage in the bedrooms. We had no wardrobe in our large bedroom, only a small set of drawers, so we had to hang our clothes on the back of.the door. Another room only had a wardrobe and no drawers, while the wardrobe in another room was just a tallboy. If our stay was longer than 3 days, the lack of storage would have been an inconvenience. The WiFi went down on the second day and despite the owner acknowledging and apologising, this couldn't be rectified during our stay a slight inconvenience to a couple of the party On the whole, there were far more positives than negatives, but just a few extra touches would greatly improve the house
A great property in a great location, 10 mins to the centre. The owners were helpful with an issue we had getting into the property on the first day and also allowed us in early on the day of arrival which was appreciated. One small complaint would be the heating it is controlled remotely and didn't come on until 9am which made the house cold when you got up in the morning.
Olivia
House is absolutely gorgeous, location was perfect for what we needed. Everyone loved it and had a great time, nothing negative but the only feedback I have is there were a few rooms without mirrors which was tricky at times.
Oyenike
Beautiful property in a great location. The property is spacious, well maintained and fully equipped. The owners were really helpful and responded to our queries promptly. The hot tub was hot on arrival and remained hot for our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this property to everyone.
Carole
Just enjoyed a lovely Coronation weekend to celebrate my 60th with family and friends. House beautiful, well appointed with everything you could need. Some of our party experienced difficulties with showers being either too hot or not warming up enough so might want to check thermostats. For future improvement, long term, the hall games cupboard would make an excellent downstairs loo as there are a lot of stairs for old legs!!!! That said we would definitely come again!
We loved our stay and were very happy with the house facilities and equipment and the high standard of cleanliness. The central location was ideal too. Thanks for a memorable holiday
Gorgeous house in a great location. We stayed to celebrate a big birthday with family ranging from 89 year old down to 3 year old and the house was perfect for everyone. The hot tub is an added bonus. We hope to stay here again.
Robert
Four families, 8 adults and 7 children all stayed at this property for a long weekend and had a great time together. Its a large , traditional and well kept property just a short walk from the sea. More than enough space with great facilities including a hot tub and huge dining table to fit us all round. Owners easily contactable and friendly. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Malcolm
What a great property and so well appointed, we needed for nothing as the house catered easily for the 7 of us. The bedrooms were so spacious with comfortable beds. The house afforded us with plenty of space and we usually congregated in the kitchen and spacious dining room. The 7 of us only meet once a year as we live in different parts of England and Wales and it was our 19th year and everyone said it was the best house we have stayed in. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
Stuart
We had a great stay, good base to explore the surrounding areas.
We had a lovely weekend at the Royal Victoria. It was a family celebration and the house was ideal for our needs. The only thing missing was an oven glove which is really minor and we did manage. Although it is street parking we all got sorted near to the property.
Kathryn
Lovely house in a great location the house was clean and well decorated only downside was lack of a downstairs toilet, lack of wardrobe space in some rooms and a slight musty smell in the living room. Otherwise it is great house for a large group .
The property was well maintained and modern furnished. Its clean and well equipped. We were a party of 10 and the house was ideal for is. One of our party left a pair of trainers and Callam the owner went about and beyond to get these returned to us. I can highly recommend this property and would definitely book again.
Lovely big house but definitely lacking in some areas ie lack of wardrobe and drawer space in bedrooms. Nowhere to hang towels in the bathrooms. No floor length mirrors in most rooms. The 2 rooms on the first floor are beautiful, however on the second floor really need some attention and updating. The tvs did not work. My elderly mum and dad stayed in the room on the back with the toilet and their bed was appalling. Slats on the floor, sleeping in dips. My husband had to try and fix it up a little for them. Kitchen could benefit from sharp knives and utility a screen to hang laundrytowels. The lack of wardrobesdrawers was the biggest issue as we had to live out suitcases for the week. Not what you expect. For the money, we were a little disappointed.
Had one or two small issues but were immediately sorted by owner Excellent Communication with owner . Would recommend to my family and friends . Just love Royal Victoria House
Fab house to stay in for a girls weekend away. Lots of space and very clean. Great location and parking outside the house was a bonus. Would definitely recommend this property.
Lovely house for our recent family stay. Well located close to the attractions but in a very quiet area.. Would definitely go back to this house with either my extended family or group of friends.
Kathryn
The property was simply perfect, so spacious for a family gathering, location was fantastic for enjoying Scarborough, we will highly recommend to all. Thank you to the property owner
Absolutely fabulous home everything and more. Family party celebrating a 40th birthday from the children to the adults we all had a fabulous stay hot tub was fab the house was equipped with everything needed. We honestly did not want to leave would highly recommend.
Highly recommended.
Absolutely gorgeous house. Everything we needed. Home from home.Great location, easy parking. We all loved it. Would definitely recommend and return.
Thomas
Had a lovely long weekend with friends here recently, four families but the house is so spacious it didn't feel like it. The kids had plenty of space to play and relax in the games room whilst we chatted together over the massive dining table or around the island in the kitchen. We had ample space at meal times and never a queue for the loo as there are loads around the house. The family bathroom however was something else, the shower was fab but the bath was perfect ultimate relaxation! Not far from the beach and shops and takeaways close by so we didn't have to cook too much although the kitchen was well equipped if we had wanted to. All of us would happily come back again
Robert
The house was perfect for our family holiday, plenty of room for all of us both upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have a table in the dining room that seated everyone including room for two high chairs. Bedrooms were spacious and most had ensuite facilities. The only thing possibly lacking was a downstairs toilet, not an issue for us but any elderly clients might struggle to be up and down the stairs a few times a day. The hot tub was a welcoming spot to relax in after some bracing walks along the beach!
