BlackCap Lodge this is a great place to be, it is surrounded with wildlife every day and allday pheasantsBirdshedgehogs and more . With full length windows on each side gives you great views with the sun shining thru from each side . One of the best things you have a lot of choice for visiting surroundings areas on the coast and local areas .The lodge has electric storage heaters, with separate bath and shower, a wellequipped kitchen with a larder fridge, dishwasher, oven, induction hob, microwave, and wine cooler. There are also a wide range of cooking pot and pans and utensils. We will be coming back again because it so peaceful.

We had a lovely stay in the Blackcap lodge, nice and peaceful, and there was a welcome basket off the owners which was a lovely welcome, everything we needed apart from there wasn't a washing machine which we did miss having, but apart from that it was great, and seeing the Moorhens running around was great, would definitely recommend it to people.

Very relaxing short break at Blackcap. Comfortable, warm and welcoming accommodation. Lovely to have the hot tub set up and ready for us to use when we arrived. We just missed the turning when we first arrived as the farm sign is not on main road.

The lodge is in a really beautiful rural setting, is clean and well presented. Blackcap was exactly what we signed up for. A quiet self contained cabin in an idyllic setting. The property was as described, really well maintained, clean and stocked with all the utensils we needed. An absolute bonus was that we were running late for our grocery delivery, Rob kindly met took it all in and put away all the fridgefreezer items. Top notch service! Highly recommend this property!

From the moment we arrived, Rob made us feel incredibly welcome. Hes such a kind, thoughtful host the sort who goes the extra mile without even being asked. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and beautifully presented, with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. And the woodfired hot tub? Absolutely out of this world. Sitting under the stars in the warm bubbling water, it was pure magic. We also fell in love with the resident guinea fowl so adorable and full of character! It added such a lovely, quirky charm to the place. Blackcap Cottage is a peaceful, highquality retreat in a stunning setting. Weve stayed at a lot of properties over the years, but this one truly captured our hearts. Were already planning our return and we cant wait!

Lovely place to stay. We would definitely go back if we wanted to holiday in that area. Nice thick bedroom curtains however not blackout so we got woken up very early by the sun. No dressing table, so had to sit up the dining room table to do hair and make up with no mirror. However loved the little touches of a little basket full of bits in the kitchen, games and puzzles under the table. Hot tub was amazing and we enjoyed it every evening. Great kitchen. A very relaxing place to stay. Few minor things like hooks on back of bathroom door, and a dressing table with mirror. Lovely to see all the wild life that came to visit i.e. hares, rabbits, pheasants, birds of prey, moor hen, house martins, swifts, not to mention the very entertaining guinea fowl. Hot tub great, but need an extra step and hand rail if you are not over 5 foot tall. All in all a lovely place to stay.

This was our second visit to Blackcap and it was as enjoyable as our first visit back in March. The vibe here is one of complete peace and tranquility. If you want to get away from it all, Blackcap has everything you need for a completely non stressful stay. There is a petrol station a couple of miles away in Fridaythorpe that has all the essentials should you run out of anything. My partner and I have also booked to stay for 7 nights in August and also for the New Year, it really has become a very special place for us and I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here if you want a truly relaxing break away! We cant get enough of Blackcap. See you in August!

Me and my girlfriend have recently returned from Blackcap following a stay for our 1 year anniversary and we both found it absolutely faultless, one minor gripe that we both havehad is that oven gloves and tea towels could be provided for the kitchenette, this aside we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the pheasants, guinea fowl and other local wildlife poking about near the premises gave a lovely rural touch to a modern countryside retreat both already looking to book again for next year

The owners were great there if required and never intrusive. All was very clean hot was excellent plenty of supplies to keep you going only problem was the weather. Only fault was the shower in the bathroom as this could not be used as this flooded the lodge as we found out first time used and only time used this needs sorting urgently. This is the only problem and did not spoil our stay which was great and would stay again.

This property is an absolute gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The owners were very informative and provided everything we needed during our stay. We really appreciated the extra effort of getting the hot tub ready and heated prior to our arrival. The lodge was fantastic! Property was fantastic we had an amazing time and the owners were super helpful. The property has been done to an extremely high standard and had everything we needed. The setting was incredible. Bed and furniture were extremely comfortable. One thing to note and one ask the hot tub was heated by a woodfired stove takes 13 hours to heat up which was fun but my wife said she wouldnt want to do that on her own the owners do offer their support. The towels were lovely, but the big towels 1 each were too small for a 5 property with a hot tub. Would be great to either get some bigger ones, or have 2 each, in the future. A final tip Im sure this is obvious but bring a bathrobe for the hot tub we didnt expect them to be provided, but one we took with us was really handy for hot tub.

What a lovely little gem this place is ! Firstly we was greeted by Becca who explained all you needed to know about the lodge and was very welcoming and then left us to it for the remaining stay. It had everything you needed in the lodge and very clean and also the bed was very comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful and very peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch through your windows. You are very central to visit York or the coast so lots to do and also theres a local garage that sells more or less everything if you need anything. I would highly recommend and will be returning in the near future
