Ghyll Crest, Thirsk

As a party of 12 family members ranging from 10 73, we recently enjoyed a wonderful 4 nights at Ghyll Crest. The property is beautiful, warm and spacious. It has everything you could possibly need for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The downstairs was very accessible for our wheelchair user who appreciated the gorgeous adapted bedroom and wet room. The number of bedrooms enjoying ensuites was also appreciated and everyone found the beds comfortable. The individual robes were a lovely touch for those of us who made frequent of the large hot tub throughout the week. The house had plenty of parking spaces and a charging point if needed. Emma was a lovely host and answered all my questions promptly. She even gifted us a late check out that was very much appreciated.

Stunning house in a beautiful location with wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. Emma, the owner, is lovely and makes you feel really welcome. The beds are super comfortable and theres plenty of space to accommodate a large group. Huge well equipped kitchen. The hot tub is fabulous and enjoys the same gorgeous views. Highly recommended.

This was a great property for our family Christmas. Everyone could be together without being on top of each other. Emma put up a Christmas tree for us and the hot tub was fabulous. We didnt try the barbeque but would have used it if we visited in the summer. Thoroughly recommend if you have a large group.

We loved our stay and owner Emma was amazing. The accommodation is completely perfect. Any queries about anything we had were responded to immediately. My family have asked me to book for next year. We take our family away at this time of year and have done for several years . This is the best house we have stayed in .Great location , beautiful inside and out . Great attention to detail the accommodation , comfort and luxury are outstanding . Emma could not have been more helpful .

I rented this house for me and my friends I can not tell you enough how fantastic this house was ! ! Clean beautiful views equipped very well!! Comfortable and the lady did everything for us and more ! We will be going bk !!

This property is absolutely beautiful in a lovely countryside setting. We stayed Friday to Monday October 1720. Perfect for our family of 10 which was 8 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 8. Plenty of room for everyone to sitrelax. A hot tub is always a must for us. As it had been cleaned in readiness for our arrival it did take quite a long time to heat up as it is an 'eco' tub but was just fine after that. We went for a walk around the local area on the Saturday afternoon hoping to call in at the local pub the Gold Cup Inn for a drink, but unfortunately it was closed so perhaps give them a call to check it's open if you're thinking of going there. On the Sunday we had a ride to the local reservoir Cod Beck and had a pleasant walk around there. There are of course other places to go to if you want to have a ride out in your car. The owner , Emma, is a lovely lady and every comfort was provided for. It was clean and comfortable and very well equipped and Emma lives close by so is on hand if needed. My family and I would highly recommend this property so hope you will give it a try and enjoy your stay!

We were a family of 11 people across four generations younger than one year to 86 years celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Fantastic property! Quality fixtures and fittings and very comfortable beds. Was great having three ground floor bedrooms each with ensuite. Amazing kitchen and dining area with great view! The hot tub was a real bonus too. Emma was extremely helpful and friendly and the welcome pack she left for us was very useful. Would definitely recommend this property and we hope to return.

The property met and exceeded our expectations! A beautiful, fully equipped property in a picturesque location. We booked for 12 of us to stay as my nephew was getting married nearby. This property was the icing on our cake to the weekend. Thank you Emma host, we will definitely be back!

Beautiful cottage, really done to high standards. Good ground rules set which Is very important. Lovely host really friendly and made sure you knew everything on arrival before the host left you to it. Great sized bedrooms and overall just a really lovely place, complementary items on arrival which helped so much. Would 100 recommend.

We stayed at Ghyll Crest for my 60th birthday. This is a perfect house for a multigenerational group. We were between 28 and 83 and everyone loved it. Showers were fantastic, comfy beds, amazing outdoor space and hot tub which was well used over the long weekend. The lovely weather helped. We enjoyed watching birds of prey from the trees around the house and if youre a stargazer, on a clear night, youll be very happy! We were very impressed with the quality of fixtures and fittings in the house. My husband, coming from an engineering background, loved the attention to detail! We really appreciated the big social space in the kitchen for family board games and the snug for my parents, who could go and watch the all important cricket final. Having 3 ground floor rooms, including a more accessible bedroom was perfect for the less mobile. And having five showers between us helped us get ready quickly for a lovely meal at the Blackwell Ox Inn 15 mins drive away can highly recommend their Thai food. Walks from the door were beautiful. The tranquility of the surroundings made for a perfect relaxing break. We enjoyed cooking a full English breakfast for 10 on the Saturday morning making use of the air fryer, and the oven was great for hot buffet food. It was a wonderful home from home, even down to the cafetire! We would highly recommend Ghyll Crest. Emma, our host, went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel at home. If anything could be improved it would be some toiletries in the bathrooms, which some of us forgot, but really that was a minor thing. Thank you again for an amazing stay and a fantastic memory of my 60th birthday!

Excellent property clean, comfortable, beautiful setting. Excellent for accessibility with ample room for a wheelchair to manoeuvre, ramped access and superb downstairs bathroom. Highly recommended by a family with children and a wheelchair user.

Myself and a few friends stayed here for a birthday weekend recently. The house is amazing, the views were great and the property is really clean and well looked after. Emma was a great host when we arrived. She showed us everything we needed such as the hot tub, outdoor seating etc. and was very welcoming. I would absolutely recommend staying here for big groups of friends, families etc. Thanks again!

A wonderful house which was ideal for us to visit with our children and grandchildren to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.

Fabulous place to stay and enjoy peaceful surroundings. Great kitchen and dining area. Comfortable beds and pillows, which makes a great difference when you want a rest. I wanted a chilled 50th birthday weekend with friends and thats what we all got. Nice walk through the local woods and pub also within walking distance.

We stayed here for my 30th birthday celebrations and absolutely loved our stay at Ghyll Crest. The house is stunning, and every room spacious and decorated beautifully. The beds were some of the comfiest weve ever slept in and we all had the best sleeps ever. The views from the house are amazing, its so peaceful and relaxing to sit in the hot tub looking over the gorgeous countryside. Emma has thought of everything you could possibly need, the kitchen is really well equipped, with all the appliances and utensils youll need & lots of the basic foods & breakfast foods like croissants and eggs which was really lovely. We headed in to York races on the Saturday which was easily accessible by taxi, prebooked XL Ubers meant there were no long waits, I would recommend if doing the same. Our stay couldnt have been better, Emma was so helpful and quick to reply to any questions. We would definitely recommend the house to anyone & will definitely be back again soon! Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend away.

A group of 11 of us stayed here over a long weekend to celebrate a 30th birthday, and we couldnt have picked a better place. The house is absolutely stunning, much more spacious than it appears in the photos and spotlessly clean. The kitchendiner was the ideal social hub, with plenty of room and everything we needed. We were greeted with thoughtful touches like milk, eggs, and Easter eggs, which made us feel instantly welcome. Each of the bedrooms were as beautiful as each other, so no one felt like they got the short straw. The terrace at the back is generously sized, complete with two sets of outdoor furniture and a hot tub tucked away to the side, all overlooking the breathtaking North Yorkshire countryside. The hot tub was checked and maintained daily, which was really reassuring. The surrounding area is an idyllic Yorkshire town, perfect for relaxing walks and soaking in the scenery. Im usually incredibly particular about places I stay, but I genuinely couldnt find a single fault. Ill be recommending this place to friends and family and definitely hope to return. Thank you, Emma, for such a wonderful stay, it truly made for a 30th birthday well never forget.

We had a lovely week at Ghyll Crest in the Easter holidays celebrating my big 70 with all the family 6 grandkids. The house was immaculate and Emma met us to show us round. She left some food and goodies for us all to enjoy which was very kind. The house was ideal for a big family gathering with lots of room for everyone and lovely views from the dining area and outside terrace. Ideally situated for exploring the North York Moors and Yorkshire I would highly recommend this well appointed property.

A fantastic property which was great for our family group who enjoyed the beautiful location with great walks and bike rides from the door. We had a super week and found the large house and facilities to be perfect for a really enjoyable holiday. The open plan kitchendining area, terrace and hot tub made for lovely convivial evenings and we were blessed with fantastic April sunshine all week which may things even better. Highly recommended.

We had a fab long weekend here in March. The house is BEAUTIFUL as well as the surroundings and views. The open kitchendining area is perfect for the group size this house accommodates so we could all be together in one room. The host is very helpful and really has thought of everything you would need for your stay. We especially enjoyed the little touches including the robes for the hot tub. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic stay, 100 recommend! As a group of 10 celebrating a 60th birthday this property had everything we needed, a beautiful big kitchen for us all to celebrate together, stunning views over the countryside and a fab hot tub that everyone enjoyed. The location is lovely and peaceful but still close enough to enjoy the nearby areas of Thirsk and Northallerton. We all had a wonderful stay and will absolutely be recommending to friends and family in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at Ghyll Crest! Emma was a fantastic host. Everything you could possibly think of Emma had already thought of. Lovely walks surround the area. A pub is also in walkable distance. We would highly recommend Gyhll Crest to anyone!

Cannot fault anything on our stay here, would happily stay again. Kitchen Dining Area Everything possible provided to make a meal. We found the 2 dishwashers was very handy with 10 of staying. Huge dining table so we could all sit down and enjoy our evening. The wine fridge was a nice touch aswell. Bedrooms and Bathroom All bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate, despite the house being full it was also very quiet while sleeping. Wasn't disturbed by friends who were up earlier than me. Outside Area Patio Area and Jacuzzi were perfect, the pagola over the jacuzzi kept the winds out and provided spectacular views for as far as the eye can see. Drive easily fit 5 big cars on, bins and recycling area provided. Surrounding Area Lovely walks nearby and friendly country pubs 1010

Emma was a brilliant host, we received a very warm welcome and were provided with complimentary items, such as croissants, bread,milk and juice which was very thoughtful. The house is stunning, the kitchen dining area was a fantastic space to socialise with the rest of the guests. The whole house is equipped for all needs two dishwashers! and plenty more. The house also includes a downstairs room with disabled access with a large walk in showerwet room. All rooms are furnished beautifully and the beddingpillows are such lovely quality. The whole house is immaculate with beautiful finishing, especially the barn gate hanging from the ceiling which was an amazing feature in the kitchen. As we were celebrating a 60th birthday, we found the location was great for a country getaway as well as a short taxi journey to Northallerton where we booked brunch at The Potting Shed. Overall the weekend was perfect and beyond our expectations, it is the nicest holiday home weve visited, definitely recommend this beautiful home!

We were a group of 8 and spent a wonderful week here. Immaculate spacious accommodation, extremely well equipped with everything we could possibly need and lots of thoughtful extra touches which we werent expecting. Beds very comfortable. Weve stayed in a quite a few lodges over the years and would say this is the best weve been to. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day!

A beautiful property that had pretty much everything we could need already available. Its spacious and has been finished to a high standard. Wow! Dont let the lack of reviews on this property put you off booking, this is a new property to the holiday let market and oh my word! What a property. It is finished to the highest standard, there is nothing lacking. The view out over the balcony is just stunning and the addition of the well maintained hot tub just tops the whole experience off. Well done Emma this is a credit to you!

Stayed with a group for my partners birthday, and we were all absolutely blown away by the place. It's huge, decorated beautifully and has everything we needed. The kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances, everything was super clean and the host was really friendly and accomodating. The location is great, with a gorgeous view regardless of the weather. We're likely turning this into an annual visit, beautiful place.
