Hazel Lodge Reviews

Super lodge, well spaced out in a great position, on a lovely site. A few things missing in the lodge however a fire blanket & extinguisher, oven gloves & only one bin liner provided. A mat by the French doors from the decking & a lamp in the lounge area are just suggestions to consider. All in all, we had a lovely break, & would definitely return in the future.
Rebecca
Excellent location and beautiful surroundings. Approx 2 minute walk to park and ride, 7 minute ride into town, 5.20 return for family of 4! Lodge was beautiful. Couple of really simple and cheap additions needed a mat inside the french doors when walking in from the deckinghot tub and a clothes maiden two dry your wet towels in after the hot tub to save hanging them on the shower screenradiators. Platesdishes etc were all dirty, we put them through the dishwasher so not a major problem. Highly recommend and will return!
Melissa
We had a lovely stay hazal lodge. Lovely peaceful also beautiful scenery. Hot tub was amazing. Lovely accommodation. Definitely will come back
Annette
It was a pity park and ride not open A cover over jacuzzi for rainy days would improve things
Samantha
Although this site is close to a busy road, we didnt notice the noise even when in the hot tub. We like that it is a half hour walk from Whitby and that the site is small and spacious you dont feel overlooked by your neighbours. The lodge itself is stunning and we like that there are two shower rooms with toilets. The master bedroom has a huge walk in wardrobe and the twin isnt cramped. The hot tub got to 38 degrees, which is pleasant enough and typical of a lot of holiday lets. Personally I like it at 39 degrees but that is on the hot side. We would like clearly marked recycling and rubbish bins in the bin hut but maybe theyre not quite there yet with it being a new site. We recommend this lodge and site.
Alison
The accommodation as lovely as it is and in a great setting often felt like you were on a building site. It is not made clear that the site is not yet completed and ongoing development continues to include tarmac surfacing to the main entrance, drilling and ongoing construction work. I had to request coat hangers as only 2 were in the wardrobe the owner was prompt at providing lots more the following day. The seal in the shower was faulty so we were not able to use this, again I informed the owner of this. Lighting on the site is poor at night and the current lighting doesnt seem adequate, we arrived at night and really struggled navigating the lodge in the dark. It would also have been helpful to have bins closer to the lodges the current arrangements are at the entrance gate. This site was great for accessing the park and ride service which is a 5 minute walk away. The lodges are well equipped and clean and it is nice that dogs are welcome. I would like to revisit when the site is fully complete the views and scenery are stunning and from our lodge we could see Whitby Abbey a good base for a break near Whitby.
Absolutely lovely break away we had everything we needed the lodge was immaculately clean in a great location with stunning views. Right next to the park and ride so no stress getting into whitby for the day and the stables Inn was very warm and welcoming also dog friendly. I'd highly recommend
Debbie

Annette
Hot tub too cold to use when we got there and we did not realise it took so long to heat up so couldnt use next day either when we got back in after spending a we day in Whitby . . once to a decent temp it was great ! Great location just across from park n ride , the Stables restaurant was ok and just a short walk away. Chalet was lovely
Fabulous lodge in a really convenient location for Whitby. The park and ride is just across the road. The lodge was furnished and maintained beautifully. We loved how all the lodges were well spaced out over the site giving a real sense of privacy. Had a wonderful stay, thank you.
A warning about the number of steps up to the property would be advisable for anyone with mobility issues. Great view though
Lovely place, very comfortable. Looks brand new, and absolutely spotless. Loved the decor. Great views, and nice to see the horses and sheep right there. Only minor points are that the bathroom is absolutely tiny, as is the second bedroom. Very nice enclosed deck with hot tub. Very quiet and peaceful, with the Stables Restaurant very handy, and the Park and Ride literally just across the road, making it so easy to get into town without having to worry about parking. Overall, we Loved it and had a really relaxing weekend.
I can't remember if in the listing mentioned a freezer so we didn't pack any frozen food. The accommodation itself was amazing absolutely loved it. Could have done with more instructions about the hot tub. Will definitely book again.
Michelle
We were the first ever guests at Hazel Lodge and everything was brand new. The Lodge is beautiful with amazing views over to Whitby Abbey and the sea. We had everything we needed and loved every minute. The park and ride is a 2 minute walk away, the pub is a 2 minute walk away and the hot tub was lovely and relaxing in the evening. The owners live on site and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. It really is an outstanding location and the site has been thought out very well to make best use of the surrounding views. We are already looking to book for later on the year.
