26 Frenchgate, Richmond

26 Frenchgate was a great place to spend with friends the house which had a real fire a great open plan kitchen 3 great bedrooms . We used the juczzi which has a great view, Richmond has great restuurants,pubs and lovely independent shops . Richmond is a great place to visit if you like walking .We highly recomend 26 Frenchgate

What a gem of a find! We booked 26 Frenchgate as a last minute break over half term and was so glad we did. The house was beautifully decorated with everything you needed and more. The hottub was a lovely addition with great views of the church. The location of the house was great too, Richmond town is full of history. We visited the castle and the Green Howard museum which were both great. Our two children aged 5 and 9 found them really interesting, especially the war medal room in the museum. We had some lovely walks too! The 3 mile circular walk passing the Drummer Boy stone, money tree, Easby Abby, the Loop Cafe with amazing views and ending and the Station, was really nice. The restaurants in the town were really nice and very well priced. Our particular favourites we La Pizza, literally round the corner and Elixir in the town itself. The church at the bottom of the garden was nice to visit. We aren't a religious family but can appreciate the building and its place in history. The clock does chime, however we didn't always notice it and it's not particularly loud. John the caretaker was great too and was quick to make contact and explain the checkin process. Overall, we would recommend staying here as the house is great and so is the location.

Fabulous place. If youre staying in the Richmond area we highly recommend 26 Frenchgate. We were visiting family in Darlington for Xmas 25 and our AirBnb canceled last minute on us very stressful in the moment but were actually glad they did because we found 26 Frenchgate as a replacement and what great trade up! Some things to know. Bathroom is really that amazing ! Kitchen is well equipped and views are unparalleled from the dining room The whole place is finished to a very high standard. Great fireplace in the living room that pushes out some good heat. Location of the house is amazing. Short walk to everything but on a fairly quiet street. Richmond feels like England should feel to visitors from overseas, having lived there 30 years ago I wanted my kids to feel real England, this house and Richmond gave us just that. Some notes to be aware of The stairs are steep especially the ones down to the hot tub so might not work for anyone with mobility issues or at least take it steady. The church did ring the bells while we were there and you can hear them but that added to the charm for us, they dont ring them later in the evening though. As the first renters we had some very minor items of feedback but the hosts were actually grateful for that which tells you a lot about who youre renting from. Definitely recommend 26 Frenchgate.
