We had a lovey few days, the accommodation was immaculate so clean and everything you could of wanted for your stay. The hot tub was the best we have ever experienced as it so clean and looked after. Sarah was such a lovely lady so helpful and full of information of places to visit. We definitely be returning & hopefully staying longer next time. Kim & mark

A lovely place to stay we had a great experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and wellequipped. The location was peaceful, perfect for a relaxing getaway, and close enough to explore local attractions. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and affordable place to stay.

Chris & Hel 1st8th May 2025 Market Deeping and Rotherham. I searched around for the perfect weeks accommodation for my partner's birthday, thankfully my long searched ended as soon as I found Garthgate Holiday Lodge! It's a converted double garage at the end of a long driveway down the side of the main big house situated on the A64 just outside the lovely market town of Maltonsecluded in its own pretty corner away from everyone else. Believe me do NOT be put off by its once humble beginnings because it is far from a large double garage now! Garthgate Holiday Lodge is an absolute credit to the lovely and incredibly dedicated and very friendly owner Sarah. Sarah has thought of everything to really make you feel as if you're home. I recommend upon your arrival to keep a watchful eye open for the blue bus stop sign, because the A64 can be a tad fast and the turning onto the drive comes upon you fast. Once you enter the front driveway head towards the lefthand side of the main house. You have your own lockable drivr gates should you wish to use them but we never did as the main house locks their big entrance gates late every night, you are given a key for that if you fund yourself out in the very early morning. Follow the drive right to the bottom and park your car in its very own parking space. Your home for your stay is found secluded in a beautifully pretty court yard with seating areas with tables to eat should you wish to eat alfresco or just partake in a cool alcoholic drink in the evenings. There's also a smoking bin mounted upon the wall should you partake in that naughty habit too. The crowning glory is of course the hot tub of which I used almost every day and multiple times at that. Sarah really is a stickler for seriously taking incredibly good maintenance of the hot tub she will attend to it twice daily aswell as wash the surroundings of the hot tub too twice daily. Entrance to your accommodation is via the large glass doorways, one of which is a large bifolding door. Upon entering you will find a large open space living area with a cute little tv area, small dining area and a wonderfully large modern kitchen with everything you will ever need except maybe an air fryer and most definitely cupboard space to put your food away in. I am being very picky when I write that. It's got everything else all builtin oven, microwave oven, large hob, fridge, freezer, washerdryer and dishwasher too! Sarah leaves you a very luxurious welcome package full of goodies the chocolate cake and cookies were my absolute favourites so much so I had to find out where Sarah purchased them from to get more to take home as gifts! Then you enter the large bedroom which has a large wardrobe, drawers, dressing table with mirror and bedside cabinets as with everything else in the property the bed is on excellent quality and you do get a really good nights sleep in it. Situated just to the side of the bedroom is the bathroom. The bath is large and I'm sure is big enough to accommodate two people to be sat end to end in it and share a bath. There is a very large walk in shower that easily can fit two people in it, there's a stool, towel warming radiator and it also has a little cupboard with supplies for you to use. The bathroom has two mirrors, one has a shaver socket on it, an demister also a light if you press the button on the bottom right hand side. Suggestions for improvement and please note I am being so incredibly picky here! Is storage area for your food and storage area to pack away your cases etc just because amongst all that luxurious looking decor the food and empty cases made the place look untidy It is such an incredible place to stay in a truly beautiful part of Yorkshire and I hope we get another chance to stay there again.

Sarah the host was lovely! They jad went out there way to get treats and a toy for the dog, the accomdation was beautiful so roomy and tidy! I'd recommend to everyone!!

Could not fault anything from the welcome by the owners, the high standard of all the appliances and decoration. The hot tub is without doubt the cleanest we have ever been in thanks to the care given by the owners. Would highly recommend this cottage. Only regret was not being able to thank and say goodbye to the owners as they were out when we left

This was our second visit to Garthgate Holiday Lodge. We enjoyed our long weekend in 2023 so much that we booked for a week this year begged we had even left. It's the best holiday accommodation we've ever stayed in. It's very well appointed, spotlessly clean, and really feels like home. The owner is so friendly and has thought of everything. She remembered I enjoyed candlelit baths and provided remote control electronic candles as the fire regulations prohibit real ones. There is so much to do in the local area, and a pub just down the road serving delicious food. Highly recommended.

We have had the best 3 days at Garthgate Lodge to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The lodge is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Sarah was very welcoming on arrival and explained everything to us as well as recommending places to visit and eat. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. The hot tub was a perfect way to unwind and relax after a busy day sightseeing. Sarah cleaned the hot tub daily and left us a note to say she had done this. We would definitely recommend Garthgate Lodge to family and friends and hopefully will look to return in the future.

We have just returned having stayed for 4 nights Garthgate holiday Lodge and wish we were back. .. A 5 star very comfortable accommodation with everything you needed and a bonus of a fantastic hot tub. Lovely to relax in after the explorations of the day. Sarah the owner was a lovey host and on hand if you required anything and leaving a beautiful welcome pack when you arrived. A overall enjoyable stay. Martin & Marie.

We have just left Garthgate and I am missing it already. A wonderful place to stay. Absolutely everything has been thought of to make this a Five Star stay, from the welcome pack to the hot tub. We definitely want to return. Thank you to Sarah for everything.

It is one of the best holiday lodge we have stayed in. Clean lovely presentation everything is there that you could need, and our puppy. Sarah the owner is very welcoming and the welcome pack is amazing .If you want the best don't hesitate to book.

Had a wonderful stay at Garthgate lodge warm welcome on arrival. We couldn't recommend this property highly enough. We had a warm and friendly welcome from the owner on our arrival. The Lodge was spotlessly clean. Great attention to detail, providing everything you could need during your stay and more. We felt at home straight away. There's the added bonus of the hot tub, which also was cleaned every day during our stay. The private courtyardgarden area is great for enjoying the sunny weather and relaxing with a book. We will definitely return for another break.

Garthgate Lodge is an exceptional place to stay. Sarah, the owner, has thought of everything. As an example, Sarah caters for your dog better than a number of places cater for the fee paying humans. There's dog treats, poo bags, dog bed, bowls, etc. As for the Lodge itself, it is equipped to a very high standard, I would say better than most peoples homes. The layout is perfect, the rooms are a great size, the walkin shower is brilliant and big enough for two only for water saving reasons of course . The hot tub is a god send and being undercover, means regardless of the weather, it can be enjoyed all year round. The garden is dog friendly there is a barrier which goes across the Lodge entrance to prevent your dog from escaping and a perfect sun trap. The welcome basket and food provided was absolutely a lovely, tasteful touch. Sarah as an owner, lives on an adjacent property and communication with her was spot on. Having spoken to Sarah on a couple of occasions, she is a lovely person, enjoys catering for guests in the Lodge and really does make people feel welcome. Her suggestion of a nearby beach for our dog was impeccable, so much nicer than Whitby, both for our dog and ourselves. A nicer host you could not find! The best compliment I can give is that we will be coming back here in the near future, to explore Yorkshire a bit more and to enjoy the Lodge again. Would I recommend Garthgate Lodge to others? I would but don't want to as it is a gem I'd rather keep to myself.

Absolutely Amazing property, everything from appliances to decor done to the highest standard the owners have literally thought of everything, we could not think of a single thing that was not in the lodge. The hot tub was checked every day and was a nice warm place to relax after a days sightseeing on several miserable cold days. Nice and secure yard for our dog too. We will definitely return, it is a great base and in within easy walking distance of three pubs and a fish shop.

Beautiful lodge, super clean and modern kitted out with everything you could need. Spacious bath and shower. Fully equipped kitchen. Sarah was lovely and provided all the information we needed to take full advantage of the facilities. We would definitely love to come back.

We had the best 4 days in the beautiful Garthgate lodge. Everything has been thought of, the lodge is immaculate, bed is so comfy & all appliances of a high standard. Everything you need & more is provided. Sarah gave us a warm welcome with lots of helpful tips for our stay. The welcome pack was so thoughtful & much appreciated. The hot tub was a welcome addition after a day of exploring North Yorkshire & was so relaxing. Wow amazing place to stay. Best welcome pack we have had in a cottage. Everything you could ever need is catered for! Spotlessly clean! Bed is super comfortable a bit small for us though as we have a super king at home! no complaints though as it was very comfortable. Loved the furnishings. Owner extremely helpful and nothing was a bother. Even supplied extra coffee pods for me to try fellow Nespresso lover!

Absolutely perfect stay, the accommodation was excellent and had everything needed including all utensils. The hot tub was a very nice touch and we had a very relaxing few days. You can tell this place is new as it had everything needed. Would highly recommend to anybody.

Wow, what a find! We had such a lovely stay, with everything you would ever need for a relaxing getaway. The attention to detail really makes this place special, including the lovely welcome pack with local produce and doggy treats. The hot tub was perfect and really made our stay. The cottage is within walking distance about 20 minutes to two local villages, we recommend the fish and chip shop in Rillington and the Ham and Cheese Pub dog friendly in Scagglethorpe the food at the pub was amazing and had a homely atmosphere. An amazing few days in the cottage, including a trip to nearby Malton. 1010, we will be back!!! Thank you so much for having us and the warm welcome.

We had a wonderful weekend in this fabulously appointed property. So much thought has gone into making it the perfect place to stay to explore the Yorkshire coast. There is a great pub serving good food within walking distance, we loved the hot tub, and we were given a very friendly welcome. Highly recommended, we've already booked for next year.

What an amazing Holiday Lodge, fully equipped to the highest standards, very clean, a really comfortable bed. They have a lovely jacuzzi you can use in your own little yard. We had an amazing welcome pack not only for ourselves but our dog as well. Its a perfect location for all the places to see in North Yorkshire. We loved it and would highly recommend a stay here.
