Juniper Lodge Reviews

Lovely location. Close to whitby about half a hour away from Scarborough. was lovely and peaceful. we spent some great family time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Juniper Lodge along with our little dog. for our anniversary. Location was excellent, we had a nice meal in the stables pub just opposite , lovely atmosphere and surroundings, not the cheapest though .We got the park and ride twice Into Whitby while we were there, which is just across the road , perfect no need to take the car.only 3 return, leaves every 15mins , 10 in the summer months. If your feeling energetic you could walk into whitby and get the bus back too .There's a sainsbury near by ,aldi, bm, spar shop, ,would need car though. garden centre cafe on rounderbout, too.The lodge has a lovely hot tub which we made good use off despite the very mixed weather we had, I would suggest they provided a couple of plastic wine glasses for when outside in hottub! also when entering by the patio doors from hottub a larger mat would be far better as not to spoil carpet getting wet . The lodge it's self was light and airy, very nice throughout, comfortable and cosy.A few improvements or suggestments though ,only 1 bin bag in bin no replacement, only 1 cloth, no spare to wipe shower etc, basic condiments salt no pepper provided, would have brought my own, a small carton of milk maybe ,could do with a better toaster, oven wasn't very clean ! Only 1 piece of tinfoil in tray ,no spare roll provided ,had to clean the oven and wipe down hob before use greasydirty feel, the rear larger gas ring didnt work properly either ,cutlery draw was full of bread crumbs! too. Diffuser onshelf looked nice but it was empty , and a wooden Easter sign was on display were telly was ?? I put it in cupboard., the freezer compartment of fridge had melted icecream in it not cleaned up.The shower seal metal strip down the door had come away on the bottom, was like that when we arrived , I went to close it and the whole thing came away in my hand , rang maintence no problem and they fixed it straight away , would be good if they provided a few leaflets like info for park and ride, whitby what's on in the area etc, it's the little things that need attention. But on saying these things, constructive criticism, We had a lovely time. , have recommended them to friends and would definitely stay again in the future , thank you stag lodges

We had a lovely stay at the Juniper lodge at Stag lodges. It is perfectly situated right on the outskirts of Whitby. A ten minute drive or a 2 min walk to the park and ride gives you access into the town centre.
Rosalind
Juniper lodge was amazing! So clean, light and airy, really cosy and spacious too. The stables Pub next door was superb and the location really beautiful. It was so handy for getting into Whitby, over the moors and to the rest of the stunning coast too. Really loved every minute, thank you to Stag Lodges for a wonderful holiday!
Superb quality accommodation and a great location with Whitby being very easily accessible, but secluded enough to make it a littleore private and exclusive. Excellent experience and well recommended
Our first time in a lodge and we werent disappointed. It was clean, well maintained, fully equipped and, even with 3 inches of snow, it was very warm and cosy. 100 recommend. Just next to park and ride as well so great location to go into Whitby during the months that service is running. Will definitely be going back
Claire
We stayed at Juniper Lodge for the weekend and we were very impressed, especially as we got there around 6pm and it was freezing outside, but the heating was on in the lodge, which was a lovely welcome. The only issue was in the twin bedroom, there was a sign asking not to open the window as it was faulty, which wasnt the issue, but there was a strong draft blowing through, which was right next to one of the beds so we ended up having to push the 2 beds together, away from the window. It didnt affect our stay really but was just a little annoying.

We had a really great time staying in Juniper Lodge. The place was spacious, clean and beds were comfortable. The weather wasnt so great though. We wish we had come in the summer, but we still enjoyed our time there. Only downside was the internet connection which was slower than usual. But other than that, it was one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended!
Jacqueline
Overall this lodge was super, all you need for your self catering holiday. The hot tub was good and the decking was extremely dog safe. There was a couple of little things that let it down, not extremely detrimental to our stay but could do with addressing. Firstly it wasn't as clean as it could be dog saliva on the inside of the glass doors, all the windows dirty on the outside, hob etc not as clean as they should be. Then the shower door leaks all over the floor unless you direct the shower head against the inside wall and the window in the second bedroom has a note on it saying don't open as it's faulty. Unfortunately there was a storm when we stayed there was a draft through the window all night. Having pointed out these things shouldn't put anyone off staying here because it is a lovely site, near Whitby and there is a great pub within walking distance!

Our lodge Juniper was in the perfect location for the park and ride into Whitby and placed so other areas could be accessible by car. It is accessible for most people with just 2 small steps into the decking and into the lodge. It was lovely and warm and the hot tub was a real winner with us. Perfect for a nice quiet holiday. A lovely complementary welcome pack with tea, coffee and biscuits a nice touch for thirsty guests on arrival.
The lodge was lovely and clean, and in an excellent position to allow privacy. The site is very new and the lodges are well spaced out. Key collection was very easy. Having had holidays in many different lodges there are Just a few little things we felt needed attentionthinking about. the hot tub was lovely but could do with a couple of hooks to hang towels on outside. Also some maintenance needed to drawers in master bedroom as they dont open and close as they should. The lights in the bed are far too bright and maybe a lamp could be added. Although the lodge was dog friendly no bowls or dog towel provided which we have always had at other lodges. Also surprised no dustbin and that you have to take all rubbish to the main bin store. The info book in the lodge has little information regarding rubbish disposal and where to take it. Having said all of this lovely stay, peaceful and we would visit again.
Lodge is in great location handy for parker and ride and if you wish you can get ... Lodge is in great location handy for parker and ride and if you wish you can get a bus bus in Whitby to few places including Scarborough,Lodge was really clean and hot Tub was was well maintained we were there for 2 weeks and they came at the end of first week too change water and clean it the only thing I would advise is you take a shower mat with you if your unsteady on your feet as shower is really slippery I know they can not put one in for hygiene reasons we enjoyed it that much we are booking up for next year
Had a lovely stay at juniper lodge Whitby The lodge was in a glorious location nice and relaxing the lodge itself was immaculate throughout with a lovely welcome pack upon arrival including ice cubes as when we arrived it was the hottest day of the year which was a greatly Appreciated . .As it was our first stay at the stag lodges it wont be our last .. would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of booking any of the lodges you wont be disappointed ps next door to park and ride perfect to save on parking in Whitby along with the stables pub hotel next door lovely food

The lodge is in the perfect location for exploring the Whitby area. We had everything we needed apart from a few little bits, these being a living room lamp, Spoons for stiring when cooking and maybe a simple outside shower for use with the hot tub. Overall everything was great, a stay here is highly recommended. The pub nearby is very nice and also the park and ride was great for popping into town.
Jacqui
Fantastic stay, everything we needed was there, hot tub was excellent, lodge was ... Fantastic stay, everything we needed was there, hot tub was excellent, lodge was very comfortable and clean, hopefully we'll be back
Catherine
Fantastic lodge. Everything spotlessly clean on arrival. Lovely peaceful setting but also incredibly accessible to Whitby using the park and ride bus service across the road. Enjoyed having the Stables Inn pub so close too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.
Would highly recommend
We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful juniper lodge the whole experience was fantastic . What an immaculate lodge it was spotless well done to the young ladies who we met who cleaned ..they do a fantastic job . We had everything we needed and the hot tub really made our stay very special indeed the kitchen was well equipped ..the beds were very comfy with lovely fresh cotton linen. We were greeted with coffee tea sugar milk and biscuits on arrival and the sight of the cows in a field nearby ...plenty horses and we did notice a peacock .it was very special indeed and the whole area was so nice to wake up to in the mornings . We can highly recommend this wonderful lodge and must say Sykes holiday company has never let us down we have always felt looked after and most of all we know theres always somebody to help when needed . Whitby is picturesque with tiny shop filled streets .we visited the Abbey which was amazing visited beaches and went on a boat trip ..twice we are fish and chips from the quayside and they were cooked to perfection ...its all just a short drive from the lodge which meant we gad time to come home after tea and soak in the multicoloured jacuzzi. On our balcony what fantastic treat .we will be back .Thankyou we had a brilliant time and so did our doggie she loved every minute .
Very comfortable, clean and in a great quiet location but not far from town and amenities. Pub 2 minutes away. Park and ride across the road. Lack of cleaning products and a few kitchen items but sure they'll be addressed as relatively new. Could do with a washing machine if there was room to fit. Always helps when out for dog walks in all weathers. Sure we will be back
This is an outstanding lodge on a very nice quiet site. Bonus of pub 2 mins away. High spec and comfortable and well equipped , great hot tub that was also very private. 100 recommend.
Collette
Lovely property, very clean. Just needs a few finishing touches, like adjusting the cupboard and drawers so they close and open properly, but it only opened this year so teething issues. Great location, only 510 drive into Whitby.
Lovely place looked quite new. Very comfortable, clean and nicely situated. A 15 to 20 minute walk into Whitby but theres a park and ride across the road. Could do with a coffee table as you have to put your drinks on the floor. Lack of basic cleaning products and if theyre allowing pets, could be a problem! Other than that, which Im sure theyll address its a lovely lodge in a very nice location.
Hayley
Great stay, immaculate lodge, perfect location, will be booking to stay again in future. Thank you.
This lodge is amazing! Very clean and spacious. The hot tub is wonderful. Lovely temperature with colour changing lights. Perfect for star gazing.
Absolutely fantastic accommodation, much better than we expected. You dont need to change anything. Hot tub was brilliant. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Had everything we needed in a lovely location. Thank you so much, well be back. Paul and Angela
Everything perfect although maybe a radio in the kitchen area, some coasters and a small coffee table as we didnt like putting cups on the floor.
